Stewart, Goodson, Gamble and Barnridge all questionable for Miami game

he's shown plenty of flashes and every chance he's gotten, he's made plays in the passing game. that's what this offense is demanding, not the role that Hartsock would play. at this point, and if given the same opportunities, i wouldn't be surprised to see him have a better season then Shockey. i just haven't seen/heard anything from Shockey yet

plus, while he sits at the #3 spot on the roster, he'll make BIG contributions on ST's. Barnidge, (Charly) Martin and Senn are the main three you almost always see making the tackle on kick/punt coverage

Anyone that says that Gary Barnidge is a better TE than Jeremy Shockey is out of their mind.

Jeremy Shockey had 3 more TDs last year than Gary Barnidge has had in his entire career.

Sure, Fox didn't utilize him much, but C'MON MAN.

Barnidge probably is better than Shockey and is a better investment.

Shockey is a backup tight end at the end of an injury riddled career.

Barnidge is an up and comer with lots of potential just starting his career.

I don't know...there were tons of TE's physical better than Tony G last year....

Shockey ain't what he was but as this stage he is a lot smarter than guys like Barnidge and that does make him better overall.

He's faster and can catch. He's also younger and play special teams. Shockey is bound to get injured and last I heard he's on a 1 year deal, reasons we all know why

I know some people on here still don't like Jeremy Shockey after his NY Giants days, as well as his Saints days, but let's face it... At 50% healthy, he's still the second best TE on our team.

So what he can't play Special Teams like Barnidge can? With the new kickoff rule, you don't need Special Teams players as much any more.

All I'm saying is it's a better investment for the team to keep a cheap future #2 with a lot of potential that could boom than rent an expensive #2 for a year or less, depending how his brittle body holds up who you know is past his prime.

I honestly do want him to get a chance and hope he doesnt get cut. But to say he has shown flashes on the football field is ludicrous.
