As most of you are aware, at the end of last season, Fox Carolina began to play Falcon games instead of Panthers games. I recently sent the GM of Fox Carolina an e-mail asking if this will continue through this season and here is the respond I received:

During the season we had heard from a number of Falcon fans asking us to carry an Atlanta game. At that point, the Panthers were near the end of a marginal season to say the least, so we asked FOX to change the game one Sunday from the Panthers to the Falcons. The phones rang off the hook from a large number of loyal Panther fans. We won’t be repeating that again this year. We tried something and learned a lesson. Regardless of the win/loss record, this is truly Panther country.

So to summarize, there WILL be Panther games playing next season despite what the record is.

They are full of it. Same thing happened in the eastern part of SC last year and Fox showed the Bears game instead of the Panthers. I and apparently a lot of people were blowing up the phone and email. I got a similar response from the Director of Marketing and he promised to not make that "mistake" again. However, the following week they did the same thing.

They will put whatever games on TV that get the best ratings. Historically that has been Panther games and I can't imagine that changing this year; especially if Cam plays. I am getting Directv just in case.
