Wow. Goodell convinced Vick to not sign with Buffalo/Cinci

Buffalo has more of a leg to stand on than Cincy in this regard. In Cincy, Vick would've sat behind Palmer both years. Vick would've been as much of a mystery now than he was 2 years ago had he gone the Cincy route. He would've been more likely to get a shot in Buffalo given their QB play.

At the end of the day I "The fan" am happy. Vick in Philly is a good tv watch. Vick did not need to be at that horrible franchise named "Cincy". I mean the owner was committed to making sure Palmer played his contract out there, and buffalo... well I don't think he would have had the same kind of comeback there.

Honestly, professionally and personally philly probably was the right choice. Good for them looking out for his best interest.

Yeah, it's good to see him in Philly with an established team and all those weapons.

But just think about this from the point of view of a Cinci or Buffalo fan, I'd probably be breaking things and stabbing people right about now.

I read it as Goodell wanted him to go some place where he wasn't going to start immediately.

I read it as Vick being dumb as a rock.

If it could be proven that Goodell steered a player toward a certain team, owners would be pretty pissed.

The owners love Goodell, he's not getting fired or anything close to it.

I doubt it, but then I have my doubts this happened in exactly the way Vick remembers it.

The league has said Goodell did no steering, and Vick is now backing off the idea too.

Please. Goodell had the NFL issue a statement, and then Goodell told Vick to issue a statement.
