I'm with^^^...why wait?

Work. I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling from now until about mid- July. From then til early October I'll be in northern Minnesota. My goal is to hit it every day (7 days) and knock it out twice while there. Or at least get as much as possible.

I havent done insanity since last year, it greatly increased my core strength and i lost ten lbs on it was 218 got to 208. Last six months ive been in the gym with trainer help im now 184. I can see my six pack when i flex, but if i dont flex and lean back its just the outline lol. Im starting crossfit next month.

My number one problem...i dont eat enough or eat that healthy so i have to offset it with professional athlete type workouts.

Insanity and p90 x work and are great for getting back in shape

I eat pretty healthy. When I got insanity and decided to go by its nutrition guide, I only had to make a few adjustments to my diet. For example, instead of rewarding myself on the weekends with a ribeye or t-bone, I switched to flank and sirloin; I switched to center cut pork loin instead of whatever pork chops were on sale. I've always loved vegetables so I had no problem replacing corn, for example, with asparagus.

When I was really into the program, I felt great. I was worried that some of my back problems would resurface, but it actually made me feel even better. Some of the exercises on the cardio abs routine were agonizing on my back, but I stayed motivated knowing it was only a 16 minute workout. Once I got to the cool down stretches, I felt great.

I lost 12lbs in the month of May on the 'get up off your ass' workout. Didn't mess with my diet, didn't spend $200. I get up and exercise at least 45min everyday before work, usually 90min on the weekends. I mix up running, stairs, biking, rowing, elliptical and weights. The key isn't doing anything fancy. The key is to do something, anything, every day. The first two weeks it was hard to get up, and I was very tired. Now, I'm to the point that I feel uncomfortable if I don't get up. As Nike says...just do it.

meh... i already do that (except rowing, which i haven't done in years)

insanity is for people who are already somewhat fit/active

gotcha..Minnesota, eh? Are you staying somewhere that has a gym? at least get some cardio in...go running around where you're staying..maybe they have a pool?? You could do some laps...You may not get to do Insanity every day..but at least stay active :)

keep up the good work!

So how about a BUMP for some updates.

I've gone through two rounds of Insanity (with about a week of break in between, give or take) and am down 43 lbs since New Year's Day. Insanity is worth every penny, in case anyone is on the fence.

I'm curious about those who started recently and what results you've seen (googoodan) and also curious to hear from Proudiddy on whether you were able to restart the program. Also Irv, how did Asylum go? I can't decide if I want to go there next, buy P90X, or just do another round of Insanity first. Either way, Insanity came just in time for me. I had weddings to go to at the beach twice already this summer, and have been hanging out at the pool a lot. January Lomez would not have been down with all that. Thanks, Shaun T.

Man, I CAN start it and fully planned on doing so by now but my wife and I spent most of April and May closing on our new home and ever since we've been getting settled. I even have a bonus room to do it in now undisturbed, but I haven't found the time yet.

I definitely need to get going on it soon. I'm still a little weary b/c of the incident with my back, but I figure it was a one-time fluke thing and I didn't heed the lower back aches before it happened. I've been moving, squatting, and bending for about two-months now in the moving/settling process with no problems, so I'm good to go. Just gotta take that first step, lol, and IT WILL BE SOON!

I know it's gonna be rough though, I haven't adhered to any kind of diet or workouts since I quit, so I know there will be a lot of pauses the first couple weeks, lol.

Okay, update!

I started back on June 30th and took that weekend off. Then missed two days during that first week and made them up the next day, so I actually got back on track to where my off day is on Sunday.

I was pleasantly surprised by the first workout. I didn't get nearly as winded as I did the first go around and maintained relatively the same HR avg and max as before. Perhaps I knew how to better pace myself this time, who knows?

I haven't changed my diet other than cutting out soda altogether, and I did that when I started the workout. I had one soda on the 4th and that's it. But, since the 30th, it's been about 90% water, 5% juice, and 5% milk/chocolate milk (usually with whey protein) throughout the day as far as my drinks go, so that's a huge improvement.

My foods? Not so much. I still eat junk (Doritos as a snack, ice cream, etc.) but we decided no more eating out, PERIOD. So, haven't done that either. The last two nights we had some wholesome meals - salmon and salad, then chicken with green bean casserole and yams. But, other than that, I've just been winging it.

I remembered one of the guys here who already finished Insanity and had great results said they didn't count calories they just ate cleaner. So, that's been my goal. I figure if I cut out the soda and eating out, it will make a huge difference b/c that's what got me out of shape combined with no exercise. I plan on eating even cleaner as I progress.

On the negative side of things, I stepped on the scale and despite losing 3 lbs. in 3 or 4 days, I realized my 25% body fat came with 45 lbs. of body fat on the scale when I looked at it this morning. That is both embarrassing and seems hopeless at getting rid of. But, I'll keep pushing and hope to at least cut it in half at the end of my 60 days.

I actually prefer a good mix of p90x and Insanity. Insanity isn't going to do anything for muscle development. I do the following and have been loving it so far. P90x was getting stale so throwing in some of the Insanity Plyo has helped mix it up.

Chest/Back p90x

Insanity Plyo

Shoulders and Arms p90x

Insanity Plyo

Legs and Back p90x

Random Insanity workout.

Subbing out the p90x yoga is almost a must.

Good work out list.

this has been one of the more positive and inspiring threads. even for those that haven't done insanity or p90 they are at least getting off the couch and moving forward. thats all you can do. get up and get moving and there WILL be results.

i have been doing a hybrid of p90. a poor mans version basically. haven't been playing as much hoops as i would like nor soccer. i eat pretty well but just need to keep at it.

my goal for the end of july was to lose 10 lbs from the start of june, lost maybe 4 and im not down about that. making progress and now just need to keep mixing things up and avoid burnout.

keep it going everybody!!

It's both but mainly bored. That's normally when I sit down to watch TV so I want to eat while watching TV. It's late and I'm bored and tired. Not much will power left. I should probably just go to bed.
