Insanity workout

I love working out at home because it takes less time.

Any chance a hubby or a boyfriend will join you? That always helps.

you're right about the time it takes..but the motivation is greater with a glass...My gym does have classes..I just need to stop being a scaredy cat and just go

as far as my husband goes...he's one of those lucky bastards that's tall and skinny and he laughs whenever I ask him if he'd go to the gym with me....he did say that he'd play racket ball though..

not sure about my boyfriend..I'll get back to you on that one :)

The thing about workouts like this is that you basically have to continue to do it for your metabolism/body to continue at the level these workouts get them in... Of course, you could probably gradually ease out of it, but like anything else, it is more about lifestyle changes than an exercise regimen...

I'm the same way MPF... I am not motivated enough to work out at home, plus I don't have the budget nor the space for the equipment I need. I do more weight lifting than anything...

I've been trying to get my wife to work out more... she's a lazy ass... always has an excuse. She did go with me Saturday, but doesn't try very hard. She asked me the other day if she was getting ugly and fat in her old age... I was honest with her... she's still pretty but she needs to work harder on her weight.

I really need to switch my workout up some... I may start taking a few classes... the problem with a lot of the aerobics classes I would honestly be afraid I'll look like an idiot doing some of that stuff. I have taken a "body pump" class a few times where it's mostly movements with weights, that's decent.

I'm back to to the size (actually I'm more muscular now than I've ever been) and strength I want to be at (after my shoulder surgery) I would like to lose some more fat... which is the hardest part...

This workout got me from 23% bodyfat down to 9% bodyfat. It works if you commit yourself to two months of clean eating and intense workouts.

Well enough I guess... she said "I know..." and left it at that... so did I.

She has been making a little effort to eat better... but at our age, that's not gonna do it all.

I've been eating better and hitting the gym like a mofo... and it's still hard to stay fit. Your body doesn't take to it at almost 40 like it does at 25.

Of course being out of the gym for 6 months last year due to my shoulder didn't help things... but it does make me smile a bit when I see those little young twerps in there that I'm twice as strong as.

So as I mentioned in my other thread, I'll be starting this program later this week once it arrives. Any advice from anyone who's done it or tried?

nutrition, nutrition, nutrition. Abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym so remember to eat healthy otherwise the hardwork your doing is for nothing.

Also remember to push yourself and don't stop when you feel the burn keep going and only rest when you start to lose your form. insanity has alot of jumping in it so make sure you have some good plyometric shoes.

Finally, KEEP PUSHING PLAY... you may not see any results in the first 3 weeks as your body gets used to the exercises so don't get discourage and if you ever feel like quiting just remember that its only two months and killing yourself for two months to have a perfect body for the rest of your life is a heck of a bargain IMO.

drink plenty of water.

Good stuff, Irv. Hopefully I'll be posting some positive results here in a few weeks or so.

Anyone with half a brain though should understand that unless you're a greek god...getting and staying in shape is something you have to constantly work on for the rest of your life

if someone really thinks you can stay in that kind of shape by doing absolutely nothing, they're a flippin' idiot

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
