Insanity workout

I did both months... just not consecutively. I had a pretty good gap in between. During the first month, I could see a whole lot of improvement. I believe I posted it earlier in the thread.

The second month, well, I did it while away from home, living in a hotel room, no kitchen, on a limited daily food allowance - not exactly the best diet for the workout. I only dropped about 3 pounds during the second month, but I think I look like I gained a lot. Again, this is most likely because of my horrible diet while away. Don't get discouraged.

I was talking about your body fat %. You said you wanted to get down to 15%. Insanity is good, but its not a miracle workout by any means. If you want to get down that low, it'll almost take a complete lifestyle change.

Diddy, I made it a point never to pause the workouts. If I needed a break I took one, but I feel like pausing kind of gets me out of the rhythm of the workout. But yeah, the second month is full of really hard workouts. Max interval circuit is tough, but I think the hardest for me was Max Plyo. Even the recovery has these brutal push-up segments that killed me every time.

I would say I saw results much quicker after the second month. He really pushes you to your limit every day. Also, keep in mind I had to do the 60 day cycle twice to get my results. I would say I probably lost like 8 lbs. or so my first month, then about 17 the next. Then I started the cycle over and lost about 15 more lbs. overall to equal at about 40. You definitely feel more accomplished doing month 2 so stick with it--this is where you'll see the results. Level 3 Drills feels like army training.

Well, for the most part, I have changed my lifestyle. What got me from 10% at 17 years old or so to 25-26% bf in my late 20s (actually was still about 15% in 2008), was living a lifestyle I wasn't accustomed to. I had been active my whole life, then once I left JUCO and quit playing basketball, I don't know if it was being depressed or whatever, but I'd end up eating out almost every night or stuffing my face with junk food non-stop. I'd sit in the house, do my schoolwork, watch my kids, play video games, etc. and just stopped being physically active, and my diet just went to crap as a result.

It only took a couple months but it felt like one day I just got on the scale, and bam, I was fat.

So now, I've limited myself to eating out once-twice a week, and if I eat out with fast food, I try not to eat anything else that day other than my Cliff Builder's Bar and protein shakes. On regular days, I'm no longer sitting around with my hand in a bag of chips or popping Mini-Snickers one after the other... Now, I'm eating turkey bacon and eggs, tuna sandwiches on whole wheat with 1/2 fat olive oil mayo and relish, salmon, salad, chicken, green beans, cliff bars, protein shakes, etc. And my biggest problem when I became pretty much sedentary was sodas. I don't even bring them in the house anymore. Only time I've had them is when I've ate out and the empty calories and carbs have guilted me out of them most of the time anyway. They taste good, but I just got disgusted with them and don't really crave them anymore at all.

So, I figure after Insanity, I may start it again, order Asylum, or do p90x, which I already have, or just continue healthier eating and start my own regimen of basketball, running steps/hills with a weighted vest, weight lifting, etc. and then just supplement that with resistance work as I see fit. I'm sure I'll throw Insanity back on again though, and regardless, I figured dropping 10%+ body fat in one month wasn't going to happen, but Insanity jumpstarted the process and now I'll be fit to pursue all the other things I love to do like basketball and lose the rest of the excess weight as I go.

LOL, yeah man, today is day 2 of month 2 so I have Max Plyos and have heard they're just as bad as Max Interval. Going from 35 minutes of actual exercises to 50+ is super depressing and discouraging, lol. But again, I feel and see the results, I'm just such a perfectionist that I want to see much more considering how much work it is, so I have to keep going.

As I told GGD, I may just end up doing another round of Insanity myself, but I'll see how I feel at the end of month two. I just really want to get down to 10% body fat by January or February.

And I've been doing it just like you suggested... When I first started Insanity, I almost broke the pause button on my DVD player because I was getting so winded. Now, I may have to take 10 extra seconds or so before starting the next exercise, but I don't like to pause it during the circuit because it's tempting to take a longer break than what you need... So, I just keep going. If I'm really hurting, I just pause it during the water break for maybe 45 more secs. and then get back into it, but I've needed less rest as I've progressed, which again, is another sign of results.

Finished Max Plyos about 30 mins ago. Horrible. Probably the worst I've felt and the least I've done in a workout since like week 2. Mostly because I was still so sore from yesterday and my muscles in so many of the exercise were just burned out. I almost fell on my face in a couple of the push-up variations. My max hr and avg hr were the lowest they've been for an entire workout in probably a month, mainly because I couldn't push through on the exercises b/c my muscles wouldn't let me, lol. i also think today being a cheat day and my overall lack of calories outside of my cheat meal didn't give me enough energy.

Oh well, just drank a shake with two scoops of protein (52 g total) and calling it a night. Hopefully, I'll be back at it full strength tomorrow.

Haha yeah for some reason, Insanity always killed me on push-ups and the other strength workouts (tricep dips especially). Strange because any other time, I can knock out pushups like its as simple as taking a breath.

Do you have the deluxe edition with the upper body workout? Try a few rounds of that one. That workout does require dumbbells, and I really urge you to go light the first few workouts. I started it with normal weights for me. By the end, I was using my wife's little 1 or 2 lb. dumbbells - talk about muscle failure.

    • His o loaded with swift, dj, Keenan and Rome was inconsistent at best. The d was bad. And the game management was atrocious and lost them games.  He was terrible and made the team worse. I wish they kept him
    • That is my point.  I think teams make a huge mistake when they pay their decent to average QBs top QB money because they feel that they have to match the market or lose their investment--There is no way, for example, that Tua or Prescott or Murray should all be making more than Mahomes--I mean, Dak makes $15m per season more than Mahomes. People say, "Well, when its his turn...." But that is not how it should be--so my point was that Bryce can be doing mediocre to good enough in 2 years, but the way it is going, you have to pay him at the starting QB rate--currently $60m.  So even if you think he will continue to improve, at $60 m, he would eliminate any chance for a ring---so my view is, if he is not elite, you cut him.  So you draft QBs now and see what you can make of them.
    • With two 4ths and three 5ths I’m hoping we can kill it on adding depth. Take a gamble with the two 7ths.  First 3 picks id love to address the defense. I expect Tuttle, Robinson, and Jewell to all be on the 2025 roster but not after that. Be a good time to add depth and let them develop a year.
