Deangelo did not look back late.

Clausen actually got hit by THREE defenders on this play while finishing his follow through of the throw. OLine couldn't block anyone, DWill ran a bad/lazy route, Clausen threw a pass well inside of where it should have been allowing for an easy pick. Pretty much everyone sucked on this play.

No Williams didn't. He was the safe checkdown on the play......you DON'T run that route all out. If you do run it at full speed with all you got......it no longer is a checkdown.....as the time the QB goes to look for it the route has already been run.

Clausen was not just the worst QB last year but arguably the worst of the decade (considering all others that bad get pulled before they play in that many)......yet people still think it is others.

First it was Fox....then it was Steve Smith....then it was the OL....now it is Williams runs lazy routes.

Clausen just ain't a NFL starting QB. If he was....he would have had moments by now showing it.

Jimmy count contines - 346 NFL pass attempts - 0 TDs to WRs. Historically awful.....but it is everyone else making him so.....but now under a new era.

The actual route was lazy and rounded off which tends to telegraph the route to the defender allowing him to react ahead of time and move in for a pick. You can see this in the video, the defender moving in ready to make a play as he sees the route unfold, as you can already tell its going to be an out or hitch. Has nothing to do with running at full speed or not. You can run that route at less than full speed yet still make a crisp hard cut without ever giving the route away ahead of time.

Umm OK I actually put full blame on Clausen for the throw. Actually said that twice already, now three times. That doesn't mean everyone else did their job perfectly, I still look and see other issues with the play like a bad route and the oline not blocking.

Mick Mixon was being inteviewed on WFNZ by Adam and Joe Monday afternoon and said that Deangelo apologized to Jimmy and the offense immediately after the play for running the wrong route. FWIW. I thought it looked like a bad throw.

any decent team mate is going to take the blame.

Wow, what one year makes. You don't remember in Gruden's film study that Clausen said his WR at Notre Dame ran the wrong route and half the board thought he was a douche for it. The WR did run the wrong route and Jimmy told the truth, however, I guess he was a bad teammate for not lying about it.

Pretty sure he said there was a miscommunication. Yes, basically, that boils down to the WR running the wrong route, but he didn't actually use those words.

That's why I didn't quote, it was along those lines, though. Jimmy didn't say it was on me or it's my fault and people thought it was douche-like for not taking full blame. He did in this instance FWIW, and it's the fans that have said D-Will was partially to balme, not Jimmy.
