Deangelo did not look back late.

It's the design .. a defensive end like jpp will always try to run around the tackle .. therefore leaving a wide open hole for him to run straight and cut

D-will wouldn't have to run through anybody .. in pass protection as a left tackle you never just stand there once the play starts you're pretty much in an immediate race for the corner with the end.

im not trying to argue that, just point out other possibilities. the defense definitely was set up as pass rush, as you see the dt's spread out pretty far

I know what you mean .. but you pretty much just illustrated my point by saying they were in pass rush defense which is exactly why that route would make sense because of what i said in the previous post. ..

I hate jimmy clausen with every fiber of my being .. but that is a timing route therefore even with his eyes closed ( like in the pic some have of him ) that would have hit D-will in the numbers if he was running the diagramed route .. but there is really no way to be sure one way or the other so i'll just leave it at this :cheers2:

Like I said, if what you diagrammed was the designed route (Or if he was meant to run a hitch) then you're totally right. But we can really only go on what we have, and that is the route he did run. In that situation, he didn't 'look back late' which has been the common claim.

Why are those guys pulling that acorn in half in your emotion?

That's supposed to be 2 beer mugs clanking together as the emoticon is called *cheers*

i think riveria pretty much said jimmy made a bad throw so get over it already.

Rivera didn't have to...Jimmy owned up to it it the postgame interview and said it was a bad throw. He didn't balme it on the O-line, he didn't blame D-Will, he didn't credit the Giants pass rush...he blamed himself.
