My evidence is his overall lack of ability and talent, the fact that he was mediocre in his 3 college stops, the fact that in those 3 games people like to ******* themselves over they were throwaway games and he wasnt very good in them anyway, and yes this preseason where he was beyond awful.

Dallas and Seattle were both playing for seeding when they played us. Tampa Bay had their defensive starters in until the second half. They weren't throwaway games, so let's stop with the revisionism alright? Oh, but then there were the preseason games where he looked horrible throwing to Travis Taylor and Jason Carter while being protected by the second string offensive line. Bring out the knives.

So your "evidence" is pretty much just a bunch of conjecture and opinion. We don't need an ace QB to run Fox's system anyway, I don't see why people think we're utterly screwed if we don't draft a top-flight stud from a big school in the first round. The most we need is a game manager that can produce enough offense to keep us above water in a shootout when called upon. The fact that we've spent years building our line and backfield in the draft should be proof enough that our rushing attack comes first, and that is just about any QB's best friend anyway. We'll probably never run Arizona's or Indy's offense when Fox is here, sorry everyone.

Life after death, err Delhomme, is but a metaphysical concept in the minds of the FO, and logically extends to the perceptions of reality to some Panthers fans. They believe it may exist, but, like all of us, sure as hell are not ready to find out. Now, of course if you are a terminally ill patient living out the remainder of your days in a hospice in pain and/or drugged up, then the unknown might not look so bad.

It's all about perspective.

No one really knows what new QB will be viable coming out of the draft this year---regardless of what round they will be summoned from. It's all a guessing game, and a very bad one at that. I will withhold judgment before I label anyone, but I do believe that it is imperative to study the inevitability of life after Delhomme.

what the fvck is that supposed to mean?

Are you calling me a Troll?

You don't remember the nickname you earned for being the conductor of the "Bench Jake, Start Carr" symphony during the 2007 offseason? I wish I could track down some of those threads and posts.

It means you have a different opinion than he does, so therefore you are a troll, surely you know the rules of the Huddle by now?

See above.

I don't think that Delhomme is even a top ten QB, nor do I believe that he's going to last forever. I just think that anyone in FA or the draft would be a lateral move at best from what we have now, and that includes backups. I also think it's retarded to say that, because Mike McCoy sucked at developing QBs, we should avoid developing talent in house forever because it's clearly not our thing.

The stupidity of this team's FO concerning the QB position has long been a determining factor in its overall ineptitude.

Of course it' not the only factor that categorizes them this way...it's just all one really needs.

I wouldn't say the Panthers have been inept, by any stretch. By the same token, I've seen a lot of teams draft that "stud 1st round QB, only to flounder in mediocrity for the next 5 years or more because they didn't get what they thought they were getting.

We just came off a season where we had the third leading rusher in the league despite his getting one hundred less carries than the first and second leading rushers, lead the league in total rushing TDs, had a first year player with 10 TDs, and locked up the entire line for the next two years, including our franchise left tackle for fairly cheap. We only had five day-one starters on offense that weren't drafted by the current FO/staff-Vincent, Jake, Hoover, Smith, and Moose. How that spells 'overall ineptitude' must be beyond my understanding.

I'll agree with your comment fully. My comment was about the FO..in spite of how happy I waas last season when they showed signs of actual intelligece.

I wish you could too. But I have alsways been a proponent of benching Jake. Be it Weinke, Carr, Moore, or whoever.

I am not a fan of Jake on the field. He is a joke QB and we could do much better.

I am sick and tired of our FO thinking we are OK at this position. We aren't and haven't been for a long time.

But none of this makes me a troll.

Or do you not understand what a troll is?

you need to re read the post too.

what the fvck is wrong with you people? The ineptitude comment was about the FO.

need a link?

all the good things you said about our rushing and Jake still looked like a fool for the majority of the season. His scapegoat was always a lack of rushing..he had and looked his worst ever

what happened?

he sucks, that's what. and it looks like dumb and dumber are gonna let it ride again.

And who is it that does drafting, scouting, and player contracts again? I'm pretty sure that's the front office. Much of our defensive talent, almost our entire offensive line, and all of our backs are homegrown. Listening to you though, we've got Al Davis and Matt Millen calling the shots. They draft(ed) skill position almost every time just like everyone wants, too.

NFL.com has this service called Game Rewind where you can drop $5 and watch any NFL game in its entirety for a week. I've been rewatching our games again, and I'm seriously considering starting jakedelhommedoesntsuckasbadasyouremember.com and doing a pass-by-pass breakdown of every game this season. To say that he looked like a fool the majority of the season is ridiculous hyperbole, but that's pretty much been your thing since you've been here now hasn't it? We had a 100 yard rusher twice during the first eight games of the season, yet we went 6-2. One of those was owed to DeAngelo running out the clock at garbage time against Arizona. That was also around the time when we were averaging the most false starts in the league and some of the longest yards to go on third down in the league as well. Stewart was our hammer at the goal line and we were averaging about 21 points a game, but who was moving the ball between the 20s? Nobody is going to deny that he had horrible games, but 9 of his 12 regular season INTs came in three games. "Majority of the season"?

he sucks, that's what. and it looks like dumb and dumber are gonna let it ride again.

I think the reason most people either A. don't take you seriously or B. want to argue with you is because of poo like this. I've been reading your posts for a long time, and you almost never have anything even remotely constructive to say. Just that the front office sucks (despite massive evidence to the contrary) and the wheels are destined to fall off every season.

I've been here almost four years now. I've read a lot of stupid poo on this forum over the years, and it just seems like people never learn. Fox and Hurney were morons in 2006 for not starting Chris Weinke, then they were idiots for not starting Carr in 2007, then they were idiots for trading back into the first round in 2008, and now they're idiots again for not cutting Delhomme and signing some bum out of FA or blowing our entire draft on Matt Stafford or Mark Sanchez. Sure thing, sit Jake's ass down if there's someone better out there that would be a better week one starter than him. Who would that be, though? Rex Grossman?

Three years after Chris Weinke's three starts, we still have an equal mix of noobs and others who have been here long enough to know better shouting "anyone but Delhomme". This place is going to implode again the minute Delhomme throws an interception during the preseason, I can easily see it.
