Taylor and Barnridge

Man Strength

Recommended Posts

I like the potential of both of these guys, but havent really heard anything from the team or media about either one. I know fox is mute with the media, but does anyone have any info on them?

Hilee is the type of player that Meeks has had success with in Indy (johnson too for that matter).

Barnridge missed some time early on last season in never really got in the groove, but regularly dressed out. He has the potential to be playmaker (outside of the Delhomme factor).

hillee was hurt a lot this year...that my keep him out of the starting lineup

I wouldn't expect Hilee to start anyway, but he can play the Al Wallace role, if he can stay healthy.

I expect Barnidge to get a lot more PT this coming season. No rookie WR or TE is ever gonna get much action on this team, unless it's because of injuries. Fox likes to develop them instead of throwing them in the fire. I know that pisses some people off, but I believe it's the right way to do it.

Barnidge is our best hope to have a TE who can actually catch the ball. If he learns to block well he could be an every down player.

Taylor is a wildcard. If he comes back bulked up and stronger he could get a lot more playing time especially if Peppers leaves. He will definitely be in our 3rd down package but could earn more PT if he can stiffen up against the run.

I would expect him to put on some weight for this year to help with injuries just as Johnson did the year before.

Fox let him have a sub package in his rookie year. That should speak for it self and now they feel about him. Hes got some jets too cause he had two steps on his man but Delhomme missed him with the ball.

He was a very good blocker out of collage and wiffed on a few this year on ST but not bad for a rookie.

Yeah, I guarantee you that his blocking ability is the first thing the Panthers wanted to develop. I have no doubt that Barnidge will be bigger and more capable this coming season. The same goes for Taylor, although the thread starter made a pretty good point about Meeks working with smaller DE's. Hell, Taylor is already bigger than Mathis, who starts opposite Freeney for the Colts.

That is true. He is just undersized for our line. He def has pass rushing ability. As we saw last year. Without Pep though he will need some size to get around his T that he didnt have to worry about last year playing the Joker.
