My observations of Cam Newton's game

You're trying too hard TRD. He didn't play spectacular, but he didn't play poorly either. But there are no discussions with you, there's your opinion and that's all that matters.

Also, after watching the Olsen grab again, I'm not too sure about my last statement, but i'm still not sold on your observation either. 88 had free space, the safety wasn't as close as I thought he was, but the other DB was in position to tip the ball if it were thrown at the numbers. He was burned, but not Smitty burning Smoot burned. And if tipped, the safety was close enough to make a play on the ball. But now I'm knit-picking.

Have a good run, it's nice out today!

So you trust these guys? Did you trust them all before the draft too?

This old arguemnt again?

Why do so many people complain about the national media if they know so much?

Only support them when it suits you huh?

Perhaps they are being objective. I know that might seem like an alien concept to you.

The safety is 6 yards away when Olsen falls down. The guys falls on top of him.

You think if he's standing that ball is intercepted or knocked down?

This isn't college. A yard of space is wide open and he had plenty of it

Again, you're wrong. He lofts it up, the safety has a chance to turn and run under it. See, the safety is deeper (or at least level with Olsen. Hard to tell with the camera angles) when the ball is thrown. He has to run at an angle towards Olsen. Ball on a flat line is faster getting to its target than a ball thrown up in the air. He tries to drop it into Olsen's hands, there is a higher chance it gets broken up or picked.

Your last statement is just ridiculous. No need to even argue that.

I just want to point out you said there was only one DB in the screen. Which, obviously, was proved false.

Also, I would say that even if Olsen caught the ball standing up, he would've been decked by the DB closing in, not the diving one. But, I don't know, because it didn't happen.

Cam will be starting week one. He will not be perfect. Sometimes receivers will have to slide/fall/reach/lunge/jump to catch his passes. He will sometimes throw interceptions, and the Panthers will not win all 16 games with him as starter. But he will play better than the QBs did last year. TRD, if you want to have an honest debate about his performance, fine, but what are you getting at? Are you saying Clausen is better? That we should have drafted Gabbert or Locker? Or are you just saying Cam isn't an all-pro yet?

Please explain to me how the DB was burned but was in position to tip the ball. Those two statements directly contradict

I wouldn't go as far to say that Cam will be starting week one.

I do think that Jimmy will be starting week one, depending on how the rest of the preseason goes, but, I think that Cam starts by week six. Sort of a Josh Freeman-esque type situation.

Ive been reading this board for a while but just registered to post this.

My question is why do board members tolerate this troll The Real Deal, who's every post and only posts are trolls of Cam Newton.

It destroys the spirit of the entire forum. He doesnt care about Newton or the Panthers he is only interested in generating controversy with members and challenging their optimism about their #1 pick.

No one else on this forum behaves like this. As casual reader I feel confident I speak for others requesting that mods ban this pretender. He is anything but the real deal.

He is not a panther fan, just a simple troll.

I think given the fanboydom for Cam in this forum, a little balance isn't the worst thing. He's going to start eventually but it doesn't mean his game doesn't need a lot of work.

Now that you're registered you can simply block people whose posts you don't want to read. Simple solution really
