No poo! Who said that DWill wasn't the best back on the team (though some would argue JStew is the better back)?

You said Sutton is the reason, you wouldn't have paid DWill this offseason. Meaning you don't really care about the guy and would have been happy with a Stewart, Sutton, Fumbleson back field. While its still solid, its nowhere near as good as the scenario we're in now at running back. Thanks to , you know, resigning one of the best in the game.

Reading a bit much into what I said? I love DLo. I just don't love handing out that kindof dough to a 28 year old back, especially when there are very good backs still on the roster.

Besides, everyone knows where the Panthers are going to run their offense through this year

Perhaps I was. Deangelo is one of my favourite players in the league. And I shudder at any scenario where he's playing for anyone other than the Panthers. If paying him 20 mill guaranteed was what it took to prevent such a thing, I say so be it.

I still see DWill/Stewart being the focal point of the offense. They could really take the pressure off Cam this year.

11 months ago somebody wanted him

One might say that his 2010 stats were not as good as his '09 thus his value is diminished but the significant dropoff is only in the catagory of yards after catch, the rest are pretty even. Plus his '09 games were played primarily with Moore as QB in the late part of the season when the offense was playing well in all phases.

If the FO and HC decide that he is no longer a good fit for the team, why not try to get a late round pick out of him?

This NFC team was actually the Packers. They wanted Sut back. GB thought they could cut Sut and stash him on the practice squad but the Panthers claimed him off of waivers. Kindof like how Matt Moore was cut from Dallas.
