Perfect backup for Olsen, tall, fast, has great hands.

A threat to score. Put Olsen, Steve Smith, and Barnidge in the game, with Williams or Goodson in the backfield behind Fiametta. What personnel does the D send out?

2TEs, a WR, and 2 RBs. Running play, most likely. But then Olsen and Barnidge split outside, giving you 3 WRs who run under 4.6 40s, two of them taller than 6'4". Tough to defend.

Keep the guy. If Olsen is Hurt Or Shockey, He can come right in and produce.

Agreed. Not point in use him as a long snapper, because he is valuable on offense and I doubt the team will let him do both. I wouldn't be surprised if Hartstock is released.

considering the TE position may be the primary receiver more often than not, we will probly keep Barnidge.. he helps on STs as well.

I have heard that Hartsock might make the roster as a backup Fullback to Fiametta (which would be sad news for Sutton) but would enable us to keep a more realistic 3 TEs, especially if we are keeping 6 WRs.

Shockey's injury history and age are reason enough to keep Barnidge on, not to mention his great special teams play. For Cam to get used to having two pass catching TEs, then after a Shockey injury find himself with only Olsen and Hartsock (30 career catches only 1 TD) would be setting up for disaster.

He looked great last night. I can definitely see him and Greg being the mainstays here after Shockey is let go next year.
