The 3 Best Newton Moments

Man, I dont think there is a fan out there with higher expectations on a rookie QB in his first game with only 11 practices than you. The stupidity of our fanbase.

Expectations are just what I've been told.

People are saying he was GREAT in this game, GREAT.

I have normal expectations, others have extremely low expectations.

There was no safety over the top on either of those. Why would 2 min matter? Wouldn't, in a hurry up, you want to get more yards on passes? Like either hitting receivers in stride or leading them so they can run after catch?

First throw was 1 on 1 and he had him beat but had to slide to catch it.

Second throw was 0 on 1 and he made him break stride allowing the defense to rally around him.

There was a satey over the top, angling over. If that ball was thrown any higher, it would have been picked, or got Olsen killed.

Keep it going TRD, I find your crush on Cam, to be pretty cute.

You have extremely high expectations or you wouldnt be acting so surprised.

Back to your previous post:

You dont know for sure if there wasnt a safety on the top, from tv angles.

The 2min matters b/c that is an added pressure, duh.

You still didnt acknowledge wet throwing conditions.

Keep it going TRD, I fine it pretty entertaining actually.

The safety was coming from the inside, not over the top...that ball should have been a TD, no doubt about it. The fact that you make up excuses to defend Cam shows exactly where he is as a passer.

Unless they had 12 or 13 guys on the field, there was no safety over the top. Coming over from the inside possibly, but nowhere near making a play on olsen.

2 min doesn't matter because Cam doesn't feel pressure, didn't you watch him in college.

It's not raining anymore

So how bout this TRD...the defense was in zone, cover 3 is what it looked like. There was a safety in the middle of the field that CAM looked off to get armanti open. The cb was with clowney, i think, so he was with him. Armanti was in the slot and once he started his seam and got behind the lb's...he did what he has been taught to do, what receivers are taught to do...SIT IN THE ZONE. Cam hit him in the hole in the zone.

Great game. Cam did throw off his back foot a few to many times, but the giants were sending 6-7 guys each play trying to get a turnover and rattle him. Didn't happen, go panthers!

armanti just dropped a good pass from newton on the replay game ...ugh.

Yeah, that's the best pass I've ever seen him throw...hit his drop, planted, and fired the ball. If he threw even 50% of his passes like that, I wouldn't say a word...Great fuging pass

You don't sit down on a route like that when there is no safety over the top

On the armanti play the safety was high and out side. Exactly the reason armanti sat down in the zone. We don't know what the play was designed to be maybe it wasn't a 9 route? The 30 yard pass to olsen was a good pass to where only he could catch it. Who's to say the defender wouldnt havr made a play on the ball otherwise.

That play wasnt even the 2 min drill, i was thinking of the one to armanti. I just rewatched it and the safety was coming from the inside. I still think it was still a good play and decision, he threw to the right guy, and it was slightly safer leading olsen kinda inside since the safety covering him was playing outside. Could he have hit him in stride where he would have to reach out and grab it making it slightly tougher to catch and hold on to while continuing running? Sure, it was still a good throw considering he has accuracy issues.

It was a corner covering him from the LOS.

It was a good decision considering Olsen had him beat and he was open....good read.

Don't know if it's safer leading your receiver into the safety coming from the inside.

My point is that he could have hit him in stride or at least not make him slide and it would have been 6. Instead, he's down at the 9 and we settle for a FG.

Glad you acknowledged that.

I don't expect all throws to be perfect, but when you have a chance for a TD and you throw a ball that handicaps that chance, I'm going to comment, especially after I was told his accuracy is perfect.
