After game 1, what are you concerned about?

Impossible to say, really. I would say the corners and pass rush from the DE's, but without Johnson/Hardy/Gamble/Munnerlyn it's kind of pointless. Would have liked to have seen a 3rd down conversion from Cam/Jimmy, but that'll come. It's not like we didn't pick up a 1st down.

Unless both Johnson, and Hardy play like 80% of the snaps, it's still somewhat of an issue.

But I don't think we'll have a problem getting sacks this year.

I think I read somewhere that Johnson did play something like 90% of snaps last year. Hardy will start, in my opinion, but still rotate out on occasion and slide in at DT on long passing downs, probably. I'm not concerned about the DEs yet. If Brown and Norwood were our starters, then I'd be concerned.

I think we saw a very vanilla Cam Newton offense. I don't believe for a second that Cam will be sitting in the pocket in the red zone. I think we will see him rolling out and looking to pass or run (if no one open). Same thing on 3rd and short so I believe our 3rd down conversion rates will be much improved.

After one game I'm most concerned about the number of armchair quarterbacks who think their analysis of a preseason game is somehow relevant and/or important.

Between the troll, the one-upsmanship, and the general disdain for differing opinions; this board is stifling the voices of the few knowledgeable posters who make this place worth visiting.

We have installed about 1/3 of the offense and defense at this point. We had a number of starters not playing. It was a preseason game after 2 weeks practice.

Honestly what did you expect?? For example I read about the complaints about a number 2 receiver. How would that happen when we didn't have our number 1 receiver in the game, Guys like Naanee or LaFell were drawing double teams as the number 1 receiver without Smith in there. Lets see how they do when we have installed the offense and Smith is starting.

And the list goes on. Can you judge you starting CBs when both the starters didn't play at all??? Can we be worried about lack of DE pressure when both Johnson and Hardy didn't play??

My evaluation was that it was worlds above last year's preseason first game so honestly I was fine with it despite sitting in the rain in the first quarter. Thank goodness for the old reliable 1 dollar emergency poncho!!!!
