Mike Goodson's fumbling problem

Goodson is shifty, has speed, an incredible option out of the backfield, put up 2 100 yard games last year when his name was called, and you don't think he is liable to break a few tackles and run it to the house?

His longest run last year was 45 yards(non touchdown run) so no, I don't see him as a threat to take it to the house on any given play.

Just annoyed at the fact people bring up Adrian Peterson in a Mike Goodson thread. Like the two are even remotely comparable.

why can't people use Peterson as an example of someone who fixed his fumbling problems?

I think you are missing the point. No one was saying that Goodson is as good as Peterson, only using him as an example of a player who took a few years to overcome his issues with fumbles. We only used him because he is the most well known, and easiest to remember right now. If you would prefer that someone else is used, then there is Tiki Barber. He averaged about 1 fumble every 30 or so times he touched the ball in his first four years, and had nowhere near Peterson's ability. But eventually, he became a very good back.

Agreed.. Peterson and Tiki Barber are in fact examples of RBs who overcame major fumbling issues much later in their career than Mike Goodson (entering his 3rd season)..

there really isn't a reason people can't use them as examples.. unless people want to be ignorant and twist someone's point into something it wasn't..

Ok, so IF and WHEN:confused: Goodson ever gets this fumbling problem fixed. He'll be the next Adrian Peterson or Tiki Barber. point taken:rolleyes:

My point is he's not that good of a running back period. No where near the talent those 2 guys you mentioned have. So drawing any kinds of comparisons between them is pointless, really. We can sit around waiting for him to turn into the 2nd coming of Tiki, or we could drop his ass and keep someone who actually can chip in now without hurting the team(sutton)

the only thing anyone can take from this post is that you're reading comprehension is on a 5th grade level.. nice.

wow..we only brought up AD and Barber because of the fumbling problem ONLY...never said he would be good as them talent/stat wise. Just the fact that there have been NFL Players in the past who have overcame this problem. Tiki and AD are the most notable but I'm sure there are many others.

Peterson and Barber were both franchise type backs. So they were worth keeping around to try and fix the fumbling problem. Goodson is a nobody... Can't believe how many people are riding his dick right now. What has he really done??

when Goodson's name was called, he was the 1st RB to put up a 100 yards (2 times in a row) last year when our running game wasn't hitting on all cylinders through the 1st part of the year..

he averaged 4.4 yards per carry last year.. but foolish of me to point out a few facts..

so yeah, I guess he hasn't really done anything or shown any true playmaking potential..

the original point was: based on the information I just gave, it's totally reasonable to expect this coaching staff to do what Fox and CO proved they could not in every facet of their job description: and coach him the talent..

obviously you are too dense to simply acknowledge RBs come into the league with bad technique and can overcome certain issues down the road... while you want to divert the discussion into "GOODSON IZEN'T TEH PETERSUNZ!!"

Hes a mid 4th round pick. Not that much invested in the guy. Certainly not enough to warrant keeping his butterfinger ass around, so long as keeps this poo up. Would not be surprised if he gets cut or traded(not that hes worth anything, bag of footballs perhaps?) In favor of a more reliable type guy like Sutton.
