Mike Goodson's fumbling problem

Not going to lie, if he wants to see the field he should be telling Coach Rivera that; not the fans. Sure, we are upset that he can't hang on to the damn ball but no need to apologize to us.

Anyway in response to the original question,

Goodson will definitley be on the team because of what he brings to the team, but if he does not solve his problem by the end of the season; I could see him being traded for a 5th round pick to someone in need of a runningback.

Also of note in 125 total carries in the regular season (since Goodson has been in the league), he has fumbled five times.

Leaving him with a horrific, one fumbler per every 21 carries. That has to be one of the worst in the league.

1 fumble in every 25 carries. 125/25=5....:jc:

even though goodson can break big plays every time he touches the ball i'd rather have a guy like sutton who i can depend on to protect the ball, either way i think he makes the team this year just hope we can find a way to keep sutton also

Interesting stat regarding Goodson. As the other poster mentioned, he has 1 fumble in every 25 posessions. On the other hand, he has 0 fumbles in 42 receptions. Maybe he does need to stick to catching the ball out of the backfield.

Low sample size... it has little to do with the initial play but more to do with what he does after he gets the ball.

My thought is that he is the open field more when he catches the ball, instead of running in or near a crowd. As far as a low sample size, 125 carries isn't a huge sample size.

I see where you're coming from and I would tend to agree, but I think he is just as likely to fumble in any situation. I don't think it has much to do with how many people he encounters as it does how he holds the ball and where he is hit from.

Goodson is too good of a talent to give up on. I like the fact that Rivera went over and personnally talked to Goodson in a fairly stern way and prolly said: 'Look, dont put the fkin ball on the fkin carpet no muthfkin more..." Its time to be responsible for your play.
