I f he isn't backon the active roster by the beginning of the season, he has to sit out the first six weeks. after that he has 3 weeks to begin practicing. Then he has a three week window from when he begins to practice to be put on the active squad. If he isn't, then he has to stay on the PUP list for the rest of the year. I think they will likely look toward week 6 as the telling point.

Pretty much. If he's out there running around, then nothing more than hope will get him out there by 9/11.

If not, he'll definitely be back in 6 weeks.

By the time the season starts it will have been 8 1/2 months since surgery so in my mind he should have been healed by then an ready to go. After my ACL surgery I was cleared to play after 7 months but I was also not playing at the level that he is. I can't wait to get him on the field and see what he can do.

Everyone's ACL heals differently. After I tore mine, I could run full speed in a straight line all day long. The rubber meets the road once you start cutting. I wouldn't push it with him because he is so young.

His recovery time will depend on whether they took his patellar tendon or a cadavor ACL. Although I heard they are doing artificial tendons now as well. They say taking your own patellar tendon is the best recovery, but it takes the longest to heal.
