Thinking about 2012 Draft

After yesterdays game, I am ready to shuffle the order a bit

Round 1 - CB (no, not because of Gamble, we need in improvement elsewhere & our division's other QB's dictates our defensive strategy)

Round 2 - OG (although I realize the offense is centered around Cam, D Will's average over two games is 22 yards, J-Stew: 16. Uh, that is horrible)

Rounds 4 -7 BPA of DT, Safety, OT, OLB or maybe FB if we lose Felton to free agency.

WR is scratched with the performances so far and Gettis waiting in the wings

If the Panthers have a choice between a WR like Blackmon or a CB like Dre Kirkpatrick, which way do they go?

We need Defense, however it sure would be nice to lock up a stud WR to pair with Cam long term

It's a really hard decision. Would you pass up a potential #1 receiver to pair with Cam with how good our offense is looking? We really need help on defense. But are any of the DT's and CB's better value than Blackmon or Jeffrey?

I honestly keep forgetting about Brandon Hogan...think we hold off on CB till we see the kid play?

We've seen Gettis play and can't forget about him either. Not saying if a WR falls to us in the right position not take one but just something to think about.

I know it's early in terms of draft position but I think we should attempt to trade down.

I've been waiting to hear on Hogan too. He wasn't IR'ed so I'm guessing he'll play this season. Thing is the top CBs in Kirkpatrick and Gilmore I think are overrated. Hopefully we can find a trade down partner.

I wonder if we are able to trade down and grab someone like Jared Crick. I know he's best suited for 3-4 DE and would get mauled in the run game inside. But maybe he can pack on a few lbs. He would be a great addition to our pass rush.

I know he's a MLB but Vontaze Burfict would be a nightmare to play against if he were to line up outside with Beason in the middle.

If Hosley comes out next year...I'd take him in a heart beat. He'll probably be a top-7 overall in 2013

Cam is throwing for 400 yards with what we currently have at WR, we have other needs. OLB is a pretty huge need now.

Next years draft should be focused on the Defense. I would say CB, OLB, DT.
