Thinking about 2012 Draft

Hardy can't stay healthy and since when is Norwood a good defensive end? Tackle is an obvious need, but don't kid yourself by saying we have "three good defensive ends" because only Charles Johnson has proven anything.

You're dismissing Norwood because, why? Hardy not healthy, he had a motorcycle accident, how is that not staying healthy? He'll be ready to go. We have 3 good DE's, I'm not even counting brown. He's a bust.

Name one good DT. The Rookies don't count, they haven't shown jack.

DT and CB are top priority.

Jeffery, the WR out of the real USC is going to be a great pick up for what ever team is lucky enough to snag him, if he declares for the draft.

Edit: Scratch that, I'm not sure if anyone else is aware of this, but apparently the guy has blown up and gotten real out of shape.

Oh god, no thanks. We need to take a CB first. That or DT. Honestly it depends on our spot in the draft. If we are top 5. We might get lucky and the other teams won't need QB. I'd want us to trade that pick away for more picks.

I can see this easily. Inside top 5 we take a CB like Kirkpatrick or the top DT prospect, but if we're outside of the top 5 but still top 10 I see WR hands down as the first choice.

EDIT: To expand on this more I think the only way we take CB is if we're at the 4 or 5 spot.

Give me Alshon Jeffery or Matt Kalil. We've ignored the WR position too long on this team and Jeffery is the best of this year's class. Matt Kalil is just going to be a great Tackle, and it's time to start putting some focus on the OL again. He'd fit Rivera's system nicely.

Not that any of these guys will fall to us at 32.

Justin Blackmon would like to say hello to you.

Also, when's the last time we've had a dominant DT in the lines? How long has that been?

WR isn't a pressing need. That defense is suffering badly on the run and the pass.

With our injuries on the OLine right now, our priority should be ensuring protection for Cam Newton. A lot can change in a year though.

After losing Williams, you may be right. All the Offensive linemen are going down like flies. But, with all of them going down, they will come back next year though. Stronger more than likely.

The tune will change after the season is over with, once we see what is really a weakness. We could say the defense is, but then they turn around and be a top 10 D. You just never know. I'm hoping for the best. Especially on the Oline.

Have you seen Kirkpatrick play or just going off what you read?

Because from what I've seen I don't see how he's without a doubt the top CB. I think he's got potential but he really has sprung up out of nowhere.

I personally think it's a bit early to be talking considering we don't know where we will end up but you just have to look at the pick from a value perspective. If we can trade back to pick up two picks that'd be great. WR, DT, CB are all possible positions we can look at.

    • i felt good for those few games that bryce didn't look like the worst in the league. all that fell apart again sunday.  i'm borderline just bailing on it all. i've been hanging on by a thin thread for several years. i mean it's not even fun to watch any football right now.
