I don't look down on them. If they would rather be unhealthy, enjoy their food and lack exercise while shortening their life or increasing their chances for life threatening/altering diseases, then that's their choice.

I for one choose to try and maximize my life here on earth and reduce my risk of health problems down the road not only for me, but for my future kids, grandkids, wife ect.

But I can understand the guy leaving his wife... I couldn't be married to someone who showed no care or concern over her health, especially if we are married and have kids because that IMO is being selfish and not thinking about the repercussions of her actions for the ones close and important to her.

I don't think anyone has openly made fun of me for working out like I do (run 2-3 times a week, lift 2-3 times a week). That's BS. I do it because I love the endorphin buzz I get from working out, especially running. When I was single I worked out for stress and to look better to the ladies for sure (I lifted more back then). But now I just want to stay fit and eat whatever the hell I want. Hooray beer!!

Ask anyone who knew them as a couple and they will tell you that she put on as much weight as she did in no small part because of the way he treated her. He constantly made fun of her, insulted her when they were out in public, would take a menu away from her in a restaurant, poo like that.

I saw her at the funeral of a family friend a while back and she had lost a lot of the weight she put on during the marriage.

And he is getting what he deserves. Cant get a date because he is too short. LOL!!

I knew a guy like that. He didn't berate his wife over weight, but over other things. The four of us use to go out together a lot, but it got to the point where his berating her embarrassed me. I said something once, and he stopped coming over. Eventually, she left him, now he is alone and she is with someone else.

Funny ... I keep telling people that my skinny former self is still here, she's just hiding a little.

(Of course, I never thought I was skinny, even at 98 pounds I was harassed for being "pudgy," so therein lies the problem.)
