I wonder if it's something about the weather this time of year down there in Spartanburg. The right mix of heat and humidity does something to the body maybe, I don't know. Damn.

It's the lock out. Basically players are getting padded and playing full contact a lot sooner than their bodies are prepared for.

This could be a blessing in disguise for Pilares.

Gettis can still learn and contribute next year.

You mean that Pilares is definitely going to be in the slot now right? From what I understand he is a slot-type of receiver, where Gettis isn't. He isn't going to be a replacement for Get.

I could kind of see this argument made in regular season injuries, but in this instance, gettis' injury is one that just happens. It's called football. Every team is prepared for injuries because they're inevitable.
