Well my fav is early Van Halen, anything up to 1984.

I would say the best is Aerosmith based on hits, money, influence, longevity.

Their 1st 4 albums are pretty strong.

Semantics here, but my pick for "best" band would be Alice in Chains, followed very closely by Stone Temple Pilots.

Had you said "greatest", yes it would be Aerosmith or Van Halen, because the greatest would include traits such as longevity, influence, etc.

I define best by listening to ALL of the music on ALL of their albums and liking it ALL... not many bands I can say that about.
