Q: Jack F. asks... What are some of the main reasons that you started the "Kicks for Kids" charity?

A: I was going to be a teacher if I didn't make it in the NFL. I actually was a permanent substitute for a while in KY after I got cut from the Carolina Panthers in 1997. I wasn't going to be in the military, law enforcement, or a firefighter. So this was a way to give back to the community that has been so good to me. Also, I believe that God has given me a platform to do His will and helping others is part of that. Thanks for the question.
