Can we talk about how bad WFNZ sucks?

Mac gets alittle too sidetracked with other stuff like dancing with the stars for my liking.

since day one with him and the other dude from a while back he has the whiniest most annoying voice and laugh too much to bare. Not even Jim can fix that. Every time I would hear him on the radio, I would wonder how he has a job.

Honestly i think we have it pretty good around here. Ive had the misfortune of listening to national sports talk and it is unbelievably bad(Cowherd). I love 610AM its the only radio i listen too. It is so hard to listen to out of town radio because it sucks. I too miss Pac-Man but the newbies are trying and remember where they came from...Raleigh. Everything in Raleigh SUCKS!!!

I didn't read this whole thread, but I have to agree, Marc and Taylor are pretty bad. I don't want to listen to guys who aren't local talk about local sports. It's a job for them, in five years, they might be in Kansas City doing the same thing.

As for Bustin' Loose, in the three months I've been back in North Carolina, I haven't heard Moose on the show once. Nonetheless, a better quality show than The Drive. QCB is good for a laugh though.

Was listening to the Drive with Marc James and Taylor Zarzour yesterday - those two are seriously unbearable and I feel their crappy Panthers coverage warrants a thread. They kept interrupting Steve Smith in order to input multiple jock-sniffing comments and Marc James argued extensively with Smith about how he - not Sam Mills - was the "greatest Panther of all time," even though Smith was obviously trying to convey how important Mills was to him and his family.

Oh, and I can't tell you how annoying it is when Marc James calls Beason "Beese" like they're longtime boys or something. He repeatedly mentions how he and Beason went to Miami together. We have got to get some competition in the Charlotte market. Steve Reed is seriously the only good thing about that station, although James/Zarzour interrupt him so much he can hardly get a word out.

FWIW, I do like the Mac Attack, and seeing as Mac gets all the good interviews, ie., Hurney, Peppers, Florio, Smitty, etc. I think that's sort of understood around the market.

Agree, They are defiantly a-wholes that try to say anything that will give them ratings. They never talk good about our Panthers. They are totally Haters!!!!! “We should protest”

I travel a lot across the Southeast for my job, and it is embarrassing how bad sports radio is in Charlotte overall. A lot of bad personalities and a lot of bad programming. I do not understand how the 26th largest TV market in the US can't do better.

I really did like when Garry Williams did the morning show. I like McClain alright, but he is too goofy a lot of the time. Same thing with Packman. Wasn't the biggest fan (especially with QCB always doing the hater bit), but he did at least get good guests on.

I had high hopes for 730, but they are mostly just doing nationally syndicated shows now.

lol someone should link this topic to an e mail to the shows.

No need. Most of the people that work there, including the hosts, check this place out regularly. Where do you think they get most of their Panthers topics from? I know for a fact Brett Jensen has used threads that were getting a lot of discussion here nearly verbatim for topics on his show before.

Jenson works at Pacos, Tacos and Tequilla. I talked to him for a while one night. Very cool guy, although my girlfriend was less than thrilled about our 45 minute conversation.....

When I email them, I usually include the huddle mentioned in there. They always seem to know what Im talking about

The Mac Attack is a good show. The old man(Jimmy C) is hilarious at times.

I liked Jensen but he has painted himself into a corner with his Panther hate, so much so Big Cat called him out, good luck getting Panther scoops! He is also the biggest Cam hater and doesn't willingly say anything good about the kid, only likes to highlight his flaws, it gets old after a while, this is the Panther market after all.

Frank needs a co-host badly. I liked Frank & Buck. No, they didn't speak perfect English but how many football players do? I valued their expert analysis. Say what you want about Buck, but he and Frank know football. Frank & Moose was a good show with Moose there, better than the Drive IMO.

Marc "with a C" James is a another Cam hater who I hope has to eat big time crow, him and Jensen seemed to enjoy piling on the rookie ripping him sideways. He needs to learn the market before spouting the same kind of crap that got Cowherd kicked off FNZ, pissing people off. Taylor is OK and usually stays in his lane.

    • heck yes! With the Sanders/Dowdle trade and Mingo, Morgan has already screwed the cowboys so much that our marketing team is working on a video called "Danny Does Dallas"!
    • If that’s how the first 7 go then they’re taking McMillan at 8
    • Another reason for my liking Membou, besides the fact that Moton's knee is suspect (did not play the entire season last year), he is getting old, and he will be on the last year of his contract:  The QB market is loaded next year.  Not only does drafting Membou make you younger and saves about $24m per year in RT expenses (in 2026), it would give you a solid line should we have to replace Bryce.  Young had nine nice games, but if he requires a $100m OL to be productive and will ask for $60m, that is more than half the cap at 6 positions--not including TE, WR, and RB.  Yikes. So we will not be able to re-sign Moton regardless; we will extend Ekwonu and probably give him $35m per.  But lets say Bryce does not show us enough in 2025 to give us confidence moving forward.  If you draft the RT NOW, you have a solid OL for a new QB to play behind.  Note how the other teams like New England have been scrounging around for a T--if you don't get one early in the draft, you don't get one.  Is Christensen (on a 1-year deal) the answer?  He will want vet starting money and he'd be a downgrade. We'd have to choose between drafting a QB in the best QB draft in history or drafting the RT.  Of course, we take the QB and have a glaring need at RT.  This might get that QB injured. Even if Bryce works out, we still need to cut our OL costs in half.   So looking beyond 2025, I see the value in taking the less glamourous best player available.  We know we are losing Moton--if his knee gives out before 2026, we'd have depth.  If it does not, we have options, such as trade Moton to a team with a desperate need at T.
