Give his stats to any other random, neutral qb and people would have him as a top5 qb for the majority of his career.

Give his stats and resume to any former Panther QB and people would treat them like a god here. McNabb is a pro and his work with Vick is legendary. McNabb was too passive at times and should've spoke up in certain situations instead of being the "company man" all the time, but aside from that, Newt could learn a lot from McNabb.

Maybe now...but in his prime he was a top qb and I don't really see how it can be argued. I do agree with his bad teammate reputation though. I think people just hate him for him. Give his stats to any other random, neutral qb and people would have him as a top5 qb for the majority of his career.

Stats for QBs in a West Coast system should always be understood to be at least a little inflated, especially in Reid's offense. That's why non-WCO teams who sign or trade for WCO quarterbacks pretty much always wind up disappointed.

When McNabb has made it to the big stage, he's generally choked (or chucked). Not what I want to see out of Newton.

Mcnabb was very good until his last two years with philly, I mean look at this scramble.

AJ Feeley and Kolb are bums. Dont deserve to be in the same sentence with McNabb. Have they won 20 games combined? Won a playoff game?

McNabb and Vick made Reid, not the other way around sir. Reid is only as good as those 2 guys have taken him.

You cant make up someone on the Panthers message board comparing AJ Feeley and Kevin Kolb to Don McNabb. LMAO. Do tell, what mark have they made on this league? Those 2 are borderline HOFers or even debated for it? Hell no. Reid has had 2 very good QBs in his tenure in Philly, Don in his prime and Vick now. Everyone else was either average or a bum. Period.

McNabb always had a problem folding under pressure........ this is where I think Newton will be diffrent. At least I hope so.

Newton's looked fine in the one 'big stage' appearance he's had so far. Not necessarily dominant, but he sure as heck didn't fold like McNabb has had a habit of doing.

My big worry coming out of that game wasn't his poise. It was that he was slow to get up after several hits, and that from college players.

McNabb's got a history for being dinged up a lot. That's another trait I hope doesn't apply to Newton.

I am saying that Andy Reid can make any QB look great. Just like he did with McNabb, Kolb, Feeley, and now Vick.

I guess it's just coincidence that they all look great in Eagles uniforms, then stink it up when in another one.

Vick stunk in Atlanta, McNabb stunk in Washington, I am predicting that Kolb will stink in Arizona.

They all looked good in Philly though....wonder why?

Please explain to me when Kolb and Feeley looked great. Keep in mind Kevin Kolb has posted 3 300 yard passing games (2 of which were losses, 1 of which was against the league's worst passing D) and is Feeley still in the league? Has Kolb won 10 games in the 3-4 years he's been in the league? When were these two ever considered great? You're playing up two bums to minimize Don's impact in Philly and its sad.

Vick was shown for what he was by the end of last year. he just caught people off guard. Kolb really didn't look good under Reid his last few games by what I remember. Feeley is the only real overhyped one I could agree with

Possibly in the superbowl, but he led them to 4 straight NFC Championships. If he folded that much then they wouldn't have made 1 imo.

Obviously he has his faults, but by no means was he below a top5 qb in his prime.

      I mean that’s not an argument I go with… But in ACC play, both Clemson and SMU covered the spread more than Miami.  Miami didn’t cover in 3 games.
