Let's assume Jimmy Clausen has a successful season as starter for the Panthers in

HA, in our dreams, Anderson is not even in Orton's league as a passer, he's a journeyman for a reason. and Clausen doesnt have as strong an arm as Quinn, but Quinn has awful accuracy and Newton's mechanics are better than The Golden Calf of Bristol's and he's not hated as bad as The Golden Calf of Bristol is.

hmmm Anderson had a couple of good seasons as a passer. Orton is a journeyman at best. Couple of good seasons but thats it. Quinn has been a complete bust. Both The Golden Calf of Bristol and Cam are pretty much in the same boat when coming out of college. Huge adjustments are needed, but Cam is a bet more gifted.

i know i would, as both a Redskin and panther fan i want the REDSKINS to get a QB (which they need) and i think The Golden Calf of Bristol CAN be a good player if given good coaching.

Kolb WAS the future then got benched for Vick. as for value, i say (IF Clausen has a good year) 3rd round pick. if you can get a 2nd round pick and a player for an unknown in Kolb then you could get a 3rd for Clausen if he has a good year, but the key word is IF.

kolb didn't get benched, he got hurt. Vick took over and thats that..

*am confused*

Denver fans would be upset?

Still, Kolb was put into situation that made him look better then he may be. Kolb had multiple years of time in those situations, compared to if Jimmy had one good year. Personally, I wouldn't trade an early draft pick (1,2,3 maybe 4) for Jimmy after having a signal successful season unless I really had to. Even then, I'd try to get the best deal I could with a 4th round pick. Would never go to 2.

Anderson did NOT have a couple of good seasons, he had one good season, just one. and Anderson is a journeyman, he went from the Ravens, Browns, Cardinals and now here in Carolina while Orton was in Chicago and was traded to Denver for Jay Cutler. Anderson (if i am right) was released and isnt really wanted.

Oh, what? Jimmy getting traded? I never said that did I, I had Cam getting traded away. Possibly groomed similar to how Kolb was.

You responed to my post about Jimmy getting traded, naturally I would think that was what you were talking about.

i dont know how Denver fans will feel honestly, i think it would be split down the middle. think about it. The Golden Calf of Bristol fans will HATE the pick, BUT some Denver fans will have the 2nd Elway on their minds, so i cant see them too upset at getting Luck as the rest of the NFL fans could likely be.

As for Kolb, from what i saw, he didnt look like he was worth trading for. he put up decent numbers, but rarely won and when he was given a chance to start full time (vs. the packers) he looked lost, maybe that changes, maybe it doesnt, the Cardinals took him based on potential

what i'm getting out of this thread is that certain saints fans are terrified of the prospect of cam reaching his full potential and are reaching for the most unlikely of events in order to delay their coming doom

cant wait to see saint j's posts if cam tears it up against the saints.

Simply trying to help. Also, I didn't really understand your post, so that's probably why I replied. :\

Lol the OP stated a scenario where Jimmy plays well this season. Others came in here and said he would be traded. I asked why we would trade Jimmy after he played well when we have no idea how good or bad Cam would be in that scenario.

he got hurt THEN got benched, getting hurt was just what started it, the fact that he never got his starting job back means that he got benched, i didnt say he was benched for lack of talent, he was benched mainly due to the fact that when he was hurt Vick looked great.
