Let's assume Jimmy Clausen has a successful season as starter for the Panthers in

The fans wanted The Golden Calf of Bristol to start, trading The Golden Calf of Bristol would have caused an out-roar from the fan base more so then not starting him. Stupid to trade Orton anyways, best if The Golden Calf of Bristol just sits behind him to grow as a player.

BUT if they get the top pick The Golden Calf of Bristol is replaced with Andrew Luck, so either way those fans are not going to see The Golden Calf of Bristol, i say just trade The Golden Calf of Bristol to a team that WANTS him, denver doesnt seem to want him and we know Fox wont bench a QB until it's too late.

One good year isn't going to get us that high of draft picks for Jimmy, unless he gets a pro bowl season and if that happens I'd rather keep him around to see if he can repeat it (staying consistent) and then trade cam away.

actually it could, look at Kevin Kolb. he got traded for a 2nd and a player and he didnt put up pro bowl numbers, now i dont see any team doing that type of trade again (unless it's for a true pro bowl QB), but if Clausen has a good year i could see him traded for a 3rd or 4th.

lol, you can't even begin to compare Carolina's situation to Denver.

Sh*t, I'd kill for Carolina to have a situation like Denver.

not sure if i would. The Golden Calf of Bristol is one of the most hated players in the NFL just for being a nice guy and the Broncos are also in the Luck sweepstakes.

Maybe 4th. Kolb was put into preseason situations where he could only win, throughout his entire career. He also was labeled as the future of the Eagles by the coaches, etc. Trading Jimmy and getting a deal like the Eagles got after one good year is very unlikely.

Oops, I deleted this. D:

Anyways, still, fans would be upset.

Anderson = Orton

Clausen = Quinn

Newton = The Golden Calf of Bristol

HA, in our dreams, Anderson is not even in Orton's league as a passer, he's a journeyman for a reason. and Clausen doesnt have as strong an arm as Quinn, but Quinn has awful accuracy and Newton's mechanics are better than The Golden Calf of Bristol's and he's not hated as bad as The Golden Calf of Bristol is.

Preseason. Also Cam could start a game or two before, getting injured or doing terrible and gets benched.

So Cam gets injured or sucks and gets benched. Jimmy comes in and plays well then gets traded? Considering Cam still isn't proven in that situation I still fail to see why Clausen would get traded.

Oh, what? Jimmy getting traded? I never said that did I, I had Cam getting traded away. Possibly groomed similar to how Kolb was.

i know i would, as both a Redskin and panther fan i want the REDSKINS to get a QB (which they need) and i think The Golden Calf of Bristol CAN be a good player if given good coaching.

Kolb WAS the future then got benched for Vick. as for value, i say (IF Clausen has a good year) 3rd round pick. if you can get a 2nd round pick and a player for an unknown in Kolb then you could get a 3rd for Clausen if he has a good year, but the key word is IF.
