Inconsistency is to be expected from Cam, however, if Cam up until this point has yet to have a "good practice" the question as to who was the teams starting QB wouldn't even be near close to debatable.

Jimmy's been solid, but he's not making strides in the QB competition, which also derives the idea of him simply not being opening day starter.

Again, that's what the preseason is for. So all talk on this is actually pretty moot.

Just trying to say, people on here need to stop making Cam out to be A LOT more than what he as actually shown so far. You all hate Jimmy because he sucks so bad but yet Jimmy thus far has looked better than the guy you are all praising...think about that

Word out of camp today:

Jimmy looks good and Cam needs work on his mechanics - Ron Rivera

RR is doing everything he can to boost Clausen's confidence. We may need him at some point. He is also doing everything he can to control the expectations people are putting on Cam. This is how you have to play it as a coach in this situation.

Cam puts the ball in the end zone. Jimmy doesn't do that very often. Cam can throw the ball downfield. Jimmy, not so much. Cam is mobile, Jimmy isn't. Cam can see over the line of scrimmage without a ladder, Jimmy plays smaller than his stated height would indicate. Etc., etc.

In my opinion, you ask Smitty or Olsen, or DWill or Beason who they want leading the team going forward, and it will be unanimous for Cam.

Cam came to the mainstream well scorned and maligned by the sports media. Even a silly "entertainment and Icon" statement was treated like a brimstone and fire condemnation against him by the media. Yep, all the right stuff for putting asses in seats.

FYI....The Golden Calf of Bristol was already and Icon of rock star like quality when he left UF. He already had a very strong following. Cam had more hate directed at him than anything I've ever seen outside of the treatment towards Mike V.
