Hypothetically. You'd trade Cam. If Jimmy plays Lights out, why the fug would you trade him?

I'd keep both of them. Let Cam Ride that bench until Jimmy sucks it up or he gets hurt.

Then if Cam comes in, say because of an injured Clausen or Bad Jimmy appears, and plays lights out as well. Then, only then. Do you have to make a decision and part ways with one of them. Which one though? That's the tough choice right there.

Either way, this team needs to rape another team for draft picks or a quality player and a pick, eagles style. No excuses.

If Jimmy blows it up we better keep him as our QB. Cam can sit the bench. Eventually one will be given up but after only a year can't really say. I can say if that does happen Jimmy should stay our starter. We also spent a second rounder on him but who gives a fug about rounds, money or the cap. It's how they play.

Panther fans really piss me off sometimes talking about Clausen. He may have not lit it up his rookie year with no coaching, but he has not once complained. He has always said the right things whether you agree with his 'attitude' or lack thereof or not. He never held out on a contract either just like the holy Cam, even though Jimmy holding out would make 100x more sense, yet no one started a thread about it. He is a Panther, get the fug OVER IT. If he plays better and gives us the best chance to win he STARTS period. That goes for Anderson, Cam hell even Beason if he all of a sudden wants to be our QB.

I have seen a LOT of sucky Players roll through the organization yet everyone picks on Clausen. Crack jokes all you want, say it's impossible all you want but you sound like a fuging moron to say trade him after he brings us a winning season just because Cam iss on the bench. fuging stupid.

This isn't even CLOSE to Vick/Kolb scenerio, another stupid comparison mainly because we are talking about two young rookies who bring a future, not washed up QBs who will be gone in 4 years.

I think in the situation originally described (not Jimmy "blowing up", merely looking like a decent NFL starter) we keep him in 2012 if Cam needs to extra bench time for more adjustment, then trade him for big picks and stuff. If Cam is ready, trade Jimmy ASAP before, like Cantrell said, he turns back into a pumpkin. A QB doesn't even need to be good to collect a kings ransom, e.g. Kolb.

If Jimmy plays top 10 QB in the league quality (really having to use the imagination here) then he stays around til the end of his first contract. We negotiate to see what he wants, if he wants too much money we franchise tag and trade him. Tag and trade can't be as difficult do accomplish when it's a top 10 QB... That scenario is more like the Favre/Rodgers situation (as opposed to Vick/Kolb of the first scenario).

The most likely scenario is Jimmy shows a little improvement, not enough to garner any real interest from other teams though. We keep him as a backup for another year, then the year before his contract is up see if we can get another team to bite on a Kolb type trade anyway because, face it, the QB doesn't have to be real good to inspire hype. He just has to be young and not had enough opportunity to shoot himself in the foot (which Jimmy may have already ruined). That's exactly what happened with Kolb.
