I wanted Peterson or Dareus, until all the reports of Marty and Rivera trusting Cam came out. After that I wanted Cam, because I trusted their judgement.

I NEVER wanted Gabbert or Fairley.

Once Luck returned to school, there wasn't any QB worth taking #1. Not even Cam.

I wanted Green, Dareus, Peterson #1.

Ideally I wanted them to trade away that pick for more picks, but that wasn't going to happen.

actually, if people knew the rookie wage scale would have been changed to what it is......the draft boards would have been different.

In future drafts, QBs will now move up from where they would have been if there wasn't the new rookie wage scale. Cam would have moved up boards if cost was known.

But I'm very very glad we picked him now. He's bringing an excitement to Panther Fandom that I haven't seen in a long while, and the Swag factor is insane.

Trading down and getting a second round pick would have been smart, however if someone who the fans were pulling to get drafted by the Panthers got drafted by someone else then it would probably cause an uproar.

This. Obviously I am going to support Cam now he's a Panther, but I was wanting Dareus or Fairley. With our only FA DT now hurt, we've got to rely on 3 third round guys, one of those drafted two years ago and has done squat. Oh yeah, and Nick Hayden the All Pro fifth rounder that has materialized into a solid bench warmer.

I went back and forth between him and AJ Green. By the time the draft rolled around I was firmly behind the Cam pick.

I wanted Blaine Gabbert. But, now that we have Cam, I am very happy to have him.

I remember the first time I saw Cam was at the end of the BCS Championship. I hadn't followed college ball at all and I never heard of him. He seemed arrogant and immature.

Then I started to look into who Carolina would draft since they had the first pick (the first #1 pick ever), and I instantly got hooked into researching all these players.

And after a few weeks of researching who Cam was, I was sure that the Panthers should draft him. His character issues were minor and he wasn't the arrogant person I thought he was. And his athleticism was off the charts. Not to mention, we sucked at QB. It was a no brainer.

We drafted Cam to revitalize our team, our offense, and the fans. It was a start to a new era of Panther football.
