Why young QBs fumble snaps...

Cam and Clausen both fumbling today... again... like they both did yesterday and have been all camp.

My theory is simply that young qb's see pressure and start their drops before securing ball. I don't think it has much to do with the center/qb exchange, size of hands, etc. It has to do with pressure.

You would hope that the coaches are paying closer attention to this in 2011 than they did in 2010. It's a mental fix not a physical one as most people think IMO...

Cam can be chalked up to taking the majority of his snaps in his career from the shotgun.

I don't know what Pickles' excuse is.

Fumbling a week into camp means little. QBs are worried about so many things going around in their head, they forget the small stuff like the exchange. If they are doing come the first game of the year, then worry.

bradford has larger hands than either of those guys and he fumbled snaps throughout last year.

a rookie qb is trying to do so much pre snap that sometimes the simplest things are what they screw up on.

I have heard the expression you need a bigger set and you probably do need bigger balls to play at the NFl level. But I do think that college footballs are the same size as the NFL.
