I hope Armanti can make the team - it sounds like he has made great strides this off season to improve his game and techniques. Between he, Clowney, Guy, Pilares...sounds like a good chance only 5 WR's on the final roster.

I'm telling you guys....Clowney is looking good.

Fridays practice he was the leading receiver. Got hit on almost every throw and was making beautiful completions.

Same thing at Fan Fest with that bomb Cammy threw downfield to him. The crowd loved it.

Ive got a video of it, but Im going to wait until after I take pics and vids tomorrow to post it all.

johnellis212 John Ellis

Newton in, gun, throws low to 89...who removes helmet, slowly walks to sideline.

Smith on fence, w/trainer, getting water. Could be a cramp. He was in an awkward spot going for last grab.

Smith looks to be ok...slowly walking back to offensive group.

When you run the Wildcat, it's helpful to have the Wildcat in the huddle. Armanti Edwards comes in, hits Clowney in stride for long TD.

Armanti will not only make the team, he will contribute. I'm not an App Homer, but he is way too versatile not to come up with a way to get him on the field.

Pilares was a 5th Round Pick, and it wouldn't completely surprise me if he has a "minor" injury that leads to him being IR'ed.

It is nice to actually have some WR depth, isn't it?

Smitty, LaFell, Gettis, AE are locks. Sounds like Naanee is making the roster too. I'm glad Clowney is contributing, but I think he will be on the bubble until the end.

Still think the Panthers would keep Barnidge as a 4th TE over a 6th receiver. Barnidge is a contributor on ST as well.

Clowney could be good, but then there was a time when Anthony Bright was catching a lot of preseason passes too. Not sure how ready I am to pencil him in just yet.

Didnt we have a dude named effran (or something equally as silly) at WR a few years back who was beasting it in camp and anointed by the huddle, only to be cut... What was his name...

    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
