What kind of DT is McClain? Isn't Fua a NT?

In today's NFL a succesful defense must have a good rotation on the defensive line. If Brown can play to his potential this year then I feel our Rotation on the line will be great. Brayton is old but still a solid run stopping DE and can occasionally get a sack, Hardy showed some promise last year and should continue to grow into a great DE. Lets not forget that Norwood will also be in the rotation this year and should be a pass rush specialist. I have a feeling Hardy will have a great season this year, Brown as well.

Defensive tackle is the only mystery on defense. Irvin has potential, Hayden is crap, Fua and McClain are unproven but have potential. Maybe we are keeping Brayton around because he can play DT? We have Neblett and Duhart who could end up earning a spot but honestly I would feel a whole lot better with us signing a vet.

I really think McClain and Fua will have great careers in Carolina. Ron Rivera is a very smart guy on defense and will get the most out of these guys.

With all the talk of the QBs, Armanti and the lack of CBs the glowing reports for him and Fua have kind of fallen under the radar. With the exception of QB, McClain and Fua are the most important guys on the team and I'm very excited to see what they can do.

If we bring in another DT I think it comes down to guys like Corey Irvin and Neblett stepping up. McClain sounds like he can contribute but he's a rookie and it would be too much to expect him to play every down. We need some major leaps from our young guys. I have faith in Rivera but we need to bring a veteran for rotation.
