Sheesh people it isnt that hard. If Peppers agrees to be traded to Denver the Panthers can negotiate the terms of the trade. Just becasue he didnt sign the tender doesnt mean we cant shop him around we just have to get his approval on teams to shop too.

no, therefore this entire thread is pretty dumb, a stupid ploy by a Denver fan to get the board going, and most of the people on here bite every time

Hey its something new to discuss other then the 10 other threads about Jay Cutler. Right now with our team not making a noise in FA (not saying that's a bad thing) this "What if?" stuff is really all there is to talk about.

Hurney: Ok Carl give send me over the list of approved teams.

Carl Carey: OK Marty sent the fax as you can see these are the 4 teams we will agree with let me know what you have worked out.

Hurney: Thanks Carl will let you know when we get a bite.

Actually, if we try to shop him directly under the CBA the players union would file a grievance. All trade talks are supposed to go through his agent (not saying they are but they are supposed to). I think I heard someone say that this could result in our franchise tag on Pep being voided thus making him a UFA.

Huh?

Not a difficult concept, but an easy one to bash...

Technically correct, but there's a difference between theory and practice...

Dear Squirrel and Tar Heels fan,

Adam Schefter knows more than you do.

Already quoted in this thread but I'll do it again for good measure: "Peppers has a franchise tender and cannot be traded until he signs it, which means any trade discussions must go through his agent, Carl Carey. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Carolina is prohibited from discussing a deal for Peppers with another team. If the Panthers did, it immediately would bring an NFL Players Association grievance." -Adam Schefter

Let me go through that for you. First, it says that Peppers has to sign the tender before he can be traded. Did he sign it yet? I believe no, therefore he cannot be traded until he does. Second, it states that until he signs that tender, all trade discussions need to go through Carl Carey which means the Panthers can't discuss trading Peppers or they would face the NFLPA.

So when I said that this couldn't be true unless it was through Carl Carey and not the Panthers. Adam Schefter would agree with me, and I feel more comfortable with my original post in this thread due to the fact that Schefter's football knowledge > than Squirrel's!

With Love,

PFNY

I repeat what I wrote all they have to do is get Peppers permission to talk to teams to trade him too. Tghe reason for my little dramanization.

all trade discussions need to go through Carl Carey

Right there is all they have to do ask Peppers(Carey) what teams he wants to go to and then the team works out the details on the trade.

I'm not saying it isn't happening, because we all know how teams really work. They don't always follow the rules 100 percent. That being said we can't shop him at all, period. If we did, there would be a Player Grievance filled by the NFLPA against the Panthers.
