Carolina and Denver in Trade Talks for Peppers......**RUMOR**

Get it right. The team can work on trades for Peppers but must have Peppers approval on who they talk too.

As Peppers is the one who wants to leave and as he has the right to look for a deal and an acceptable trade for the Panthers, you would expect Pep's agent is out looking for a suitor who will give Pep the contract he wants and adequate compensation to the Panhters. Obviously Pep's agent would hope the Panthers would agree to something less than 2 first round picks and 16.7 million dollars in cap relief as compensation. We'll see if the Peppers or Panthers camp can get this done. Either way, Peppers will only be traded somewhere that he'll sign a contract, essentially putting him in charge of the potential trading partners.

If the team elects to name the player "non-exclusive" then the player shall be permitted to negotiate a contract with any Club as if he were an UFA; however, Draft Choice Compensation of TWO first round draft selections shall be awarded to the prior club in the event that he signs with the new club. For Non-Exlusive Franchise Players, the team must tender the player a one year contract that is the minimum of the average of the five largest PRIOR-YEAR salaries for players at the position at which he played the most games in the prior year, or 120% of his prior year salary, whichever is greater.

Hearny is great during FA. I've got no problem with him there.

He's already said he wants full price for Peppers. He's always been shrude. He won't entertain an offer without a 1st and at least a 2nd on the table.

To suggest that a 1st and two players we don't need at all is laughable.

Please stop.

first post guys, so if this has already been posted, i demand at least a cigarette before i'm taken out back and shot.

so, admittedly, i had to look up up the hell payton hillis was. i found this on broncotalk.net under his bio:

"The Good: Hillis’ potential is high - not since Howard Griffith have the Broncos had such a pass catching threat out of the backfield. He holds school records for career receptions, reception yards, and reception touchdowns among running backs, as well as single season running back records in receptions and reception yards in 2007, leading his entire team in those categories. He’s a productive college player with a lot of upside.

The Bad: Hillis comes with injury concerns, and his blocking ability leaves something to be desired. He broke three vertebrae in his back in 2004, and sat out some of 2006 with a deep thigh bruise. While he has good hands, he doesn’t have the speed to break away at the second level, and he may not have the power to plow for short yardage at the NFL level."

as we don't throw to our rb's, and he's already BROKEN HIS BACK and CAN'T BLOCK, we do we really want him? really?

alot of people on this board sound unnecessarily desparate. we need to get significant value if/when we rid ourselves of jpep. take your personal emotions out of the equation. that's what richardson, hurney, and fox do.

thank you for listening. good night.

Not to rain on your parade, but you should notice that thread at the Broncos site is linked to this site at the bottom of this page. Which is why I said this is a complete rumor from the get go. That thread was started this morning on the Broncos site, then Warhourse brought it here, either to be funny, stir sh*t up, or he was dumb enough to believe it.

Either way, he was able to get a lot of posters on this site to bite the hook.

Although, he shouldn't be so proud. Sometimes, it doesn't take much for some here to get hooked, lined, and sinkered.

I don't think it was either, We were discussing it as a rumor, my guess is that he brought it here just to see what your fans though about it. We have had a ton of rumors over there with all the Cutler trade talk.. IMO it's not a big deal, just gives everyone something to talk about.

It's not like he came back to our board laughing about you guys wasting time talking about a rumor he started, After all, we were talking about it too.. Anyways, no harm done. If there is something to it we have a head start on the conversation. If not then it helped pass some time.

Hillis is a better blocker this he is given credit for.. Coming out of camp last year there was a buzz about Hillis.. He was said to have the best hands on the team and the HB's were saying he was one of the best blocking FB's they had ever seen. However, I really hope you don't need him because I hope to get to watch him running over people again next year for the orange and blue.

Best of luck to everyone...

A friend inside the Broncos organization just sent me a text saying this rumor actually has some teeth. Apparently Brian Xanders has been on the phone with Hurney part of the morning. The hold up seems to be over players, not draft picks. The Panthers seem interested in plucking one of Denver's young WRs.

I'll update if I get anymore info

If we got Royal and Hillis and a second rounder for Peppers I would ejaculate.

Yet he tried to pass this RUMOR off as a fact.

That's what I'm bitching about. It's a rumor started on a fan message board. Nothing more.

Let's just leave it at that.

That's as much BS as the Ops 1st post. Unless of course, you're Hurney.
