Hall of Fame?

Who are those many DEs playing today who's got a better shot at getting in?

Jason Taylor

Dwight Freeney

Michael Strahan

Mike Rucker (Nah, just kidding!)

Of course, these are just a couple of DEs listed. When we open it up to all other positions on the defensive side of the ball, it would definitely be a while before Pep get in. He will definitely have to have some record breaking seasons to be first ballot.

To be fair, Strahan will probably be a first ballot hall of famer when he comes up in 2013. Peppers will still be playing

Michael Strahan is still playing today? That's news to me...

Haha, yall didn't hear about Strahan rejoining the Giants because he's tired of hearing Osi whining?:D

Yet anyway, I think Peppers need to be like a Strahan in order to be considered HOF worthy. For some reason I think Peps best days are behind him, and if that is true, his current numbers won't do him any good in getting him in the hall.

Peppers could have been the most dynamic defensive player (if not all around player) to ever suit up, but he didn't have the most dynamic drive or self motivation. Just look at his stats. They are great, yet they could have been much greater!

He's not even in the 100 sack club yet. If you were just going on sacks alone, John Abraham would be a better DE than Pep. We all know if Peppers had the same drive Beason or Smitty had, we would probably been looking at the face of football as we would have known it. Yet now Pep is 31, and as I said before, his best days are probably behind him.

My candidates (with no particular order):

- John Kasay

- Julius Peppers

- Jon Beason

- Deangelo Williams

- Jonathan Stewart

- MAYBE Smitty, if he can really have a good last few years

I love Kasay, but he won't make it into the HOF. There is only one other true kicker in the Hall, Jan Stenerud, and there are a lot of kickers I would think are ahead of Kasay. Morten Anderson, Gary Anderson, John Carney, Matt Stover, Jason Elam and John Hanson are all ahead of Kasay in career scoring. Adam Vinatieri would probably be ahead of Kasay just because of all the clutch playoff FGs he has.

Kasay will not be going into the hall of fame. Respect the guy and what he did here but you'd have to put a handful of other kickers in there aswell if you're going to put him in. He went to one pro bowl, and its not like hes won multiple Super Bowls to separate himself from the pack (Vinatieri) A Panthers legend undoubtedly, but Hall of Famer? I honestly don't think so.
