As a stop-gap WR, why not..

David Clowney seems to be having a good camp. Could be making a run at #2 WR.

Edwards has transformed himself; looks completely different person catching punts/kickoffs. Seems to still be working at the WR position, but will be utilized in the offense.

Gettis and Lafell having some injuries. Still not sure how they are developing, but Naane was brought in because Gettis and Lafell were not stepping up.

Naane has experience in the system, and experience as a pro.

Pilares has been getting some balls, and Wright has been getting some reps as well.

And people forget that the TE's are actually part of the passing game. Olsen is doing in good camp and is a threat, same with Shockey, and today in camp Barnidge caught a 70-yard TD from Newton. So the TE's are going to be a huge part of the passing game.

Don't forget that Chud's system incorporates the TE to be effective and get yards through the air.

So, IMO, our current WR position will be fine, for this season at least.

AND I didn't even mention Smitty!

I'm okay with WR... DT and CB are much scarier at the moment, and have been the whole "free agency period."

Although I will say I find it hard to believe that Steve Smith (NYG) is still out there. Really thought he'd have been picked up by now and for a relatively good price.

I agree, I thought NY would have signed him back by now.

Although, injury and health issues may be hurting him right now, depending on what kind of money he is after.
