Rivera sending a message to the young receivers.

From Steve Reed @ Carolina Growl

Coach Ron Rivera on new WR Legedu Naanee: "One of the biggest things is we've had nobody step up other than Steve (Smith). We need to find guys that are going to step up and challenge for the (No. 2 receiver) position. This is a chance to get a guy who knows the system, understands the system and can show the young guys what it takes to be a pro."

Did he mean that nobody stepped up last season, or that nobody is stepping up in practice right now?

The way Reed and Person are reporting it, Rivera is not comfortable with the position this year, and he felt he needed to send a message.

I find it notable that Rivera spoke about it openly. This would not have happened under Fox.

It does concern me that he felt it was a big enough issue that he publicly called them out.

I love it. And for them to bring him in then they must feel this guy can be a legit #2 threat and still has some more upside in him.

and I thought armanti was pimping it up out there... huh...

He might be pimping it out but still not WR #2 worthy

It's kinda like a person weighing 700 pounds losing 100 pounds. Wow, you lost a 100 pounds that's great...you're still a fat fug though

Except AE is probably around 180-190 lbs and runs a 4.4 - 40 with a sh1t ton of athletic talent.
