Am I the only one in the divsion who thinks Saints arent anyones rivals?

I think it comes down to hatred more than rivalry. I don't hate N.O, but I do hate ATL. To me, a loss to ATL is somehow worse than a loss to N.O. Also, I've always sort looked down at the Bucs, even when they had the better team. I realise that my views are entirely subjective.

This is how I see it also. I don't hate the Panthers or Bucks but I hate the Falcons.

I have never once posted on a Saints message board. I am a Panthers fan. I leave the Saints discussions for those who actually care about the team. If I trolled a Saints board, I would expect a backlash. I feel confident you wouldn't post here if you didn't want the attention.

Regarding your impression that the Saints were relevant before 5 years ago, they certainly may have been locally but not on the national stage. That is truth. The Saints represent one of the smallest markets in the US.

Hey, I'm not knocking that. No one really knows anything about the Panthers nationally except the 2003 SB run, and we have been the NFC Conference Championship 3 times.

So, on a local level, I feel like we have been more than a one-trick pony. But nationally, that is not the case. Just b/c it is your history doesn't make it everyone else's.

But beyond that, I would not go on a Saints message board and try to correct a Saint fan's "history" or even the atrocious grammar that is a rampant by-product of the Louisiana/Mississippi school systems. It's not my place, no matter how misguided they may be. I've been to New Orleans several times and I don't know that there is much to get excited about other than the Saints. Sorry if you don't agree, but it's a wretched, poor place except for right around downtown and the few rich areas that could rebuild. Demographics don't lie.

This is a discussion regarding rivalries for the Panthers. We don't care about the rivalry with NO the way we do ATL or TB. And yes, it always goes beyond just the team and to the city. Teams represent cities/areas, and how could anyone have a true rivalry with a dying city like New Orleans. It's just sad.

Now please go do something productive and post about your team in the appropriate forum. You will find many assenting voices there

You know what's easy to spot? Feelings of inadaquacy. This is a football discussion, yet here goes another kitten fan trying to trash the entire city. Nobody from NOLA gives a crap about an opinion of someone from Charlotte. I've traveled all over the world, and have met people in other countries that know all about New Orleans (pre-katrina) and have visited the place. Again, just pointing out your personal city inadaquacy feelings stick out like a sore thumb when you do what you did. I'd stay away from that. I've got no urge whatsoever to ever work in or visit Charlotte, but I'll leave it at that, because the topic here is FOOTBALL.

What brought me here...touche...

http://www.saintsreport.com/forums/showthread.php?t=202854

Also, the OP basically centered this around the Saints, not who Kitty fans consider a rival. Market size means nothing. Green Bay is proof of that. If that were the case, then Saints/Falcons wouldn' be on MNF 6 of the last 7 years????? Correct?

Adieu :cornut:

I understand where most of the board is coming from. Its not about win/loss or how far teams go back. Its about which team evokes the most emotion. What I don't understand is how some people can judge & stereotype thousands of people they have never met. We are all Americans & that's really what matters. I wish for every city in this country to be prosperous. My opinions of people come from their individual actions not where they live but what do I know I am just a swamp person.

Saints Falcons biggest rivalry in the NFCS. Period. It does seem as if ATL is everyones rival in this division though (at least as far as fans are concerned)

that's because of that stupid dirty bird dance. good lord that was bad.

Its seems every teams biggest rival is the one closest to them. Atlanta is stuck in the middle of everyone.

Not really. Green Bay was Tampa's rival for the longest time when they were in the same division. Saints/49ers in the 80s and 90s. Saints/Falcons since 1967.
