What would it take for Smith to get into the HOF?

I'm sure it's been asked 1,000,000 times but I've never heard any honest opinions. I mean truthfully speaking it's gonna be hard for him because he's gonna be competing with guys like Moss, TO, Torry Holt, Marvin Harrison, etc for spots. I agree with a thread the other day how many WRs of ALL TIME were better than Steve Smith in his prime? Remind you he has NEVER had good QB play. If he has two more years in his prime and somehow by someway could get that ring does he not have to be in? A player so devoted to his city and team and teammates...gosh he deserves it and to be a HOFer.

Sorry for a repetetive question but it's just really been bugging me recently.

Probably at least 3 more seasons of 1,500 yards... would bring his total to 13,384 yards, and he'd be 35. Maybe 2 seasons after that, for 1k yards each.. I think he can get in with over 15k yards. It's a pipe dream though.

He had a good QB once, believe it or not Jake did actually play good at one time.

Anyways, stacking up come good stats never hurt anyone. Going for really big stats over the next few years with Cam shouldn't be hard, hope not at least. And like everyone said, a ring or two wouldn't hurt. ^^

an act of god

this isnt the hall of really really good players

take a look at the WRs they are mulling over right now....then add the wrs that will be eligible when he is done

maybe a 2000 yard season

pretty much

the whole standard is that if it's questionable then the answer is no. and the fact that a bunch of homeristic smitty lovin panther fans have to debate about it should be clear that it's just not gonna happen.

If Andre Reed still isn't in, Steve Smith will never make it.

Chris Carter too. Smitty has zero chance of making it even if he had 3 good years his body of work doesnt help. Randy Moss is the same he will never make it due to his work ethic and attitude. Not saying Smitty had a bad work ethic. HOF voters wont vote for someone who doesnt have a full body of work.

    • No one is asking him to be Tom Brady. They're just asking him to be as good if not better than Cooper Rush, Jimmy Garoppolo and Carson Wentz. We'd like Young to be better than Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, but we're not even asking for that. No matter how you cut it he's going to be considered a bust for what was given up for him. He should be outpacing Cam Newton, Jake Delhomme and Kerry Collins game for game in their careers. He should at least be challenging the clutch level of Brady, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Garoppolo, Burrow, Hurts and Purdy. Remember that's based on the draft capital given up for Young, and not the extremely low bar Young has actually set for himself.
    • Even if you cherry pick Bryce post benching and ignore everything else and project it out over a full season….. there is no statistical  argument Kyler has ever been worse.   I’m no Murray fan as I agree he is more athlete than QB.   And I’m open to Bryce improving and support us continuing to develop him as this point.
    • We need LBs--build the roster from the bottom up.  On offense, we have Coker who has been huge...if you fill your weaknesse without having to use free agent $$$ or draft picks--win win.
