Panthers sign WR Legedu Naane

Naanee and Floyd both had 9 starts last year for the Chargers.

Naanee 371 yards

Floyd 717

Don't get why we didn't go after Floyd instead, maybe we are just too cash strapped and our leaving that last bit of cap space for a new CB ? Seems like a strange move.

Floyd is going to command a decent size paycheck.. that should explain everything..

we are only 2mil under the cap.

If Chud has seen them both and feels they have equal talent, it's probably an age thing?

Incorrect. LaFell and Edwards will battle for #3, although the #2 spot is open to all three of them if they make the necessary progress/impressions. Naane will battle it out with the other camp fodder for competition and he is also familiar with Chud's system. He might make the roster as the #4 guy.

Edwards will not be #3... too small for Chuds offense. Naanee never drops a ball... He's that kind of a receiver you look for on 3rd and long.

I remember him coming on strong and having a good season last season, kinds of seemed like everyone was surprised by it...

Any idea why he was on the scene of a homicide to begin with? Some background?

I also didn't know until just now that he was actually a QB at Boise St. before switching to WR.

I didn't know about the homicide part of it, I was under the impression it was just pub intoxication.

And with Naanee his first year he was kind of man without a position, starting off more as H-back/TE type before he moved to WR in 08.
