JR Addresses Accusations of Being Cheap

Lets not rehash 2010 again from a personnel point of view. Bottom line is that none of the people above besides Diggs would have had a contract beyond 2010. Yeah by sucking so hard the silver lining is that some young guys got work and it might be a good thing going forward, but it could have been worked out differently and didn't require us to be so terribly in 2010.

I think it could have been handled differently had the lockout not arrived at the same time Fox was getting fired (not extended)..

that is the main reason all of this became bigger than it should have been. I just don't agree that there's much you should do when you're about to hire a new coaching staff and you have 1 more year before a lockout..

I can't find anywhere that Rivera was free to land in Carolina for the 2010 season..

You are the one rehashing it because you are saying that he intentionally damaged the team to protect the finances of the organisation. In actual fact we got stand out seasons from Anderson, Connor, Schwartz and Johnson. All those players would have been part time players and easily surpassed the performance of those that they replaced, with the exception of Johnson and Peppers.

The only issue you can have is not firing Fox. Personally, I wouldn't have brought in a HC on a 4 year deal (to be judged after the 3rd) if the one in the middle was in doubt. Likewise no HC worth his salt would sign a one year deal.

Just to clarify, what HCs were appointed last year? What was the pool of coaches like to choose from?

I'm not the one rehashing 2010.

Look at this year. Randy Moss retired this week. You really think he couldn't have helped a team?? That is hardly a decent argument.

no.. comparing Randy Moss to Jake Delhomme, Brad Hoover, Moose, Landon Johnson, Kemo, Lewis, and Na'il Diggs is hardly a decent argument.. ;)

Read Panther55's post again. He is FORCED to purchase the $1500 in tickets which were probably only worth $500 -$750 in 2010 due to Richardson tanking the season. If Panther55 wanted to sale the tickets he would have been lucky to get half their face, yet he's stuck paying the full price regardless of his desire or he losses is $9000 seat right, that is probably also worth half it's value due to Richardson's tanking the season.

I don't really take statements that contain that many 'probablys'.

All you do is make wild assumptions based on nothing.

It wouldn't have mattered....Richardson was too cheap to hire another coach while paying for Fox....he preferred to tank the season and save salaries in 2010...LOL

Shame on me, I actually did read it in the end.

Season ticket holders are forced to pay for their ticket otherwise they move back to the end of the line. The only difference is the initial payment.

A little skin in the game always changes perspective. To me it is only aggravating when a PSL owner represents themselves as more important or their argument has more validity. As long as that line is not crossed they have a right to be angry for their own reasons. It is just a little difficult to not feel belittled by an owner sometimes without understanding their frustration and easy to label them elitest or entitled when in actuality their reasoning is just coming from another place altogether.

Give them a break as long as they don't come off with the whole "well I am a PSL owner so I have a right to be mad" bit. Yes they do but as a non PSL owner so do you.

You made your initial payment of $9000. That's your PSL. You are then buying then season ticket at $1500 a year. You pointed out that the whole point of the PSL is that its a lifetime guarantee that that seat is yours, provided you keep paying for it.

Now. Considering it's a lifetime guarantee, then why are you judging it ont he merits of one season?

How about this one. What is my lifetime investment going to be worth when we need a new stadium. Think I am going to be grandfathered in or are they going to need another 70 thousand people to pony up again. It isn't really a lifetime investment either although it was promised as such.
