JR Addresses Accusations of Being Cheap

for instance,

let's play the ridiculous "what if" game here..

we could have kept eveyone.. Delhomme throws 11:20 on TD:INT, Hoover is just healthy enough for Fox to keep in but more ineffective than he's worth (due to a minor tweak on the back in TC, or whenever), Moose really not that effective due to lack of passing game and let's assume he keeps Smitty from flipping out as much (beneficial, but hardly gold star worthy), Kemo tears his achilles again, Lewis was ONLY a 2 down DT anyhow, Diggs was sufficent but not a game changer through all this further dampening Anderson's true potential we now know..

and then everyone is on JR about this trend of ALWAYS keeping vets on the field past their prime..

I realize this holds no water because there's nothing true about it.. but the point still remains, you never know what could have happened.. regardless, 7-9 may not have been written in the stars..

and is 7-9 really worth not finding out about the players who we did get to watch step up last year?

I'm late to the party. (Because my work blocks this website). Let me just say; F U JERRY!!!

And F U to the HOMER Panther fans who don't have a problem with what JR said today.

go get a washcloth.. you have a sandy taco...

btw, I think after last year's press conference, it's becoming obvious JR's age is taking a toll with the poo he says... I'm surprised other people are shocked..

Was it due to things beyond your control like the economy, bad decisions you made or things one of your partners or clients did for their own benefit which caused you harm?? Depending on the cause it changes whether you have a gripe or not.

No I mean the bad season impacted my own business. But I'm able to appreciate what Jerry was doing and where he wants this franchise to go.

JR you were a cheap little bastard last year and embarrassed/lost a lot of fans and you're a lil bitch for that. Not for doing it, obviously it had to be done. It just seemed it was done in a dishonest, finger to the fans type way.

But, fug it I'm over it. I don't think anyone will argue you're at least smart and at least our FO function somewhat normally. Looks like you have a plan and all I give a poo about is some wins, it has been so long since I have seen my beloved Panthers win. I don't care anymore JR just bring me some wins PLEASE.

Again it easy to make an argumnt from the outside when you have nothing at stake. Do you think that a guy who loses thousands in the stock market is assuaged when an outsider says well you knew it was a gamble. You do think a guy who buys an expensive item from the store that breaks feels better when someone tells him that there is no explicit warranty.

And as I have explained, it isn't like a season ticket holder who can simply walk away with no consequence. If I could have I wouldn't have renewed this year, I didn't really have the money. I was compelled to pay $1500 dollars or lose an investment of 9000 dollars. That is not the same as simply buying season tickets at all.

Again, you were only compelled to purchase the tickets by your own pressure. But, again, you knew the deal going in. It's what you signed up for, like it or not.

Read Panther55's post again. He is FORCED to purchase the $1500 in tickets which were probably only worth $500 -$750 in 2010 due to Richardson tanking the season. If Panther55 wanted to sale the tickets he would have been lucky to get half their face, yet he's stuck paying the full price regardless of his desire or he losses is $9000 seat right, that is probably also worth half it's value due to Richardson's tanking the season.

And he'd be jumping for joy if we went to the Super Bowl and suddenly those tickets are worth 3x or more face value (and don't give me "scalping regulation," it happens all the time).

I repeat ... over and over and over ... that PSL buyers KNOW (or should know if they're smart enough) what they're purchasing ... and a guarantee of a winning season every year, or even good decisions by the front office every year, are not part of what they are purchasing.

Know anyone who is getting anything close to what they paid for PSls these days?? I am doing what people are doing with their houses, stocks and other valuables. Riding it out hoping for a rebound in the economy and the Panthers so when I sell I won't take a complete bath.

I paid $3900 for mine ... I'm sure I could get at least that right now. Panthers value it at $10,000 right now. It has been up to $15,000. (But that's just a number ... what it would sell for is what the market would bring at any given moment.)

Did I know we were only going to win 4 seasons in 16? Funny, I remember Richardson telling me he was going to win a Super Bowl in 10 years and do everything to be competitive. Yeah I guess it is my fault to put my faith in him. Now that I don't trust him and say so, pollyannas like you make excuses for him. Sure I paid the money and it wasn't in the contract, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it or not speak my mind. You surely do in his defense.

I never said I was happy about how things have transpired through the years, but I understand enough to know that my purchase of my PSL gives me no right to say I was guaranteed a Super Bowl or back-to-back winning seasons or anything else. I was guaranteed the right to my seat year after year, if I continue to pay my season ticket fee as I agreed to do.

I'm talking about the contract and what it does and does not do.

The emotional stuff ... that's a different animal.

You do say it ove it over as if it is new information. It isn't. But that doesn't excuse his behavior or lack of putting out a competitive product. Just because it isn't in a contract or guaranteed doesn't make it right or fair. Any lawyer will tell you that. So yeah we are stuck, but I don't have to like it or keep quiet about it. If you want to remain a sheep, do so. I choose not to. And when I think it makes sense for me to sell them I will.
