How'd I know you would chime in on that...

I was speeding, yes, breaking the law. What a badass! The car in front me was speeding as well. With 4 cars, and at least 2 in the immediate vicinity where it happened, they could've gotten that guy as well.

Well if you were behind the guy that was going faster than you, chances are the cop just pulled you over because you were speeding and he might not have been aware of the other guy that was speeding since you were directly in front of the cop.

Usually when it's late and a cop has someone pulled over and another cop sees they stop to help because it's dangerous for them.

If your bandana was in plain view, it could have been reason to give them pause.

You should be more aware of the perception you are giving off. Odds are you were wearing the bandana at that age to look "hard" or like a badass. You basically got want you were asking for, a little caution from cops when dealing with you.

Harnett County sucks all around except for Buies Creek. Did you ever go to Bunnlevel? Scariest place on earth.

LOL man that is hilarious, I had no idea anybody else knew anything about those areas on here, lol..

When my parents moved out of Fayetteville city limits, they moved right onto the county line, I literally could step on the back of their property in be in Cumberland County, they were just on the Harnett county side... I hated it.

And because of where we lived, I was closer to Pine Forest HS, but being in Harnett, I was forced to go to Western Harnett which was about 30-45 minutes away. And yes, I actually rode my bus to school through the Bugalu aka Bunnlevel on a daily basis. TBH, I didn't like any part of Harnett county...

Even after we moved out there, I just kept doing all my stuff in Fayetteville - work, rec sports, errands, shopping, hanging out, etc.

For someone who wasnt there you sure sound angry about the situation. Did I step out of my place detailing my day in Spartanburg? Im a douchebag? What exactly have you contributed to this thread? Posted any pics from camp? When you take things so personally and get furious it makes you look guilty. No need for name calling, were all Panther fans

what?

personally?

you should at least pay attention to your own thread. nice pics btw

When was 17 I took a road trip to GA with my friends and the way back I got pulled over in SC. I had little 4-cylinder hatchback ford aspire(first car, dont judge me) with some little 16 inch chrome wheels and legal tint. I was driving in a 70 mph zone going somewhere between 75 to 78 there was a lot of traffic and it was wet from raining so I wasn't passing anybody or nothing. I looked in my rear view and saw the flashing lights.

The trooper comes up to my window and ask me how fast I was going. I told him 75. He said, "no I clocked you at over 100 mph". I looked at him like he was crazy. My car would tremble like it was going to fall apart as soon as it got over 80 and never got it up to 90 mph. So I told him i wasn't going that fast and he told me to step out of the car. He then cuffed me and put me in his car.

He looked at his car and then open the door and "Boy, I just blew my tire out chasing you. I should make you change it". I told him I pulled over as soon as he hit the lights on me. As he starts writing a ticket, two more patrol cars pulled up they walked up to my car cautiously with the hands on their weapons(understandable). They told me I was going to jail for going too fast and my friend could come bail me out.

So the cop got in the car and took off with me to the station. I then tell him the whole thing is ridiculous and I know the law because my mom was a sheriff deputy at the time. Once he found that out he got on his phone(not radio) and told someone that my mom was a cop. I looked behind us and I could see my friends in my car following us.

The cop hits the gas and took off around an 18 wheeler and lost my friends, but another trooper was still behind us. He took an exit and pulled into a gravel parking lot next to some closed down antique store. There was a dirt road and nothing else but the store. The other trooper pulls up and got out his car and then the cop I was with got out.

He opened my told me to get out and the the other little stocky officer started walking up to me. As soon as he started walking up I heard another car coming. Luckily it was my friends and the cops looked at each other then told me I was lucky and they better no see me again and gave me the ticket. My friend said he just took the exit because he couldn't see us and hoped that that was where they took me.

I told my mom we got a lawyer and went to the little town where I was stopped. The court said there was nothing they could do at the time as far as with the cops taking me to some random area for who knows what. The DA said they would drop it right then if I just paid the court fee. So instead of wasting time fighting the state of SC we paid the court cost. My lawyer to us that they always pull people over around there because it's the only way their broke asses can get money. I was just happy I didn't get my ass whooped or worse.

I've had problems with cops of all races black, white and spanish. There are some good ones, but there are a lot that abuse their power.

Can't really agree with that, and it's not that I'm refusing to...

There were two ways to the road I got pulled over on, and apparently the cop had took the way I didn't, but they knew where I was going and how I went back home... I guess I was a pretty popular guy around there.

So, he wasn't behind me... He was driving up from the side of me as I turned on the road, so he already saw the car in front me... So that excuse doesn't work. He had just as much, if not even more cause to pull that guy over.

And no, I didn't wear bandanas to "look hard." Again, it's about perception. If I didn't wear the clothes I did, or wore earrings, or anything like that, I wouldn't have been pulled over. And I don't know who likes to dress a certain way to attract attention from police? Who likes to be pulled over and harrassed or have their time wasted? No one. So, no, I didn't want that, but I do understand how it could attract negative attention, so I take accountability for that... But, at the same time, if I'm not in a gang, and I'm a law abiding citizen but I like wearing a bandana, why can't I? It was too flashy...

Also, the bandana was not in plain sight, it was laying in the passenger seat under some other clothes and random things I threw in the seat after I got in the car. They had to reach in there to pull it out.

And I can't even remember if I had wore that bandana that night, it was just in my car in case I wanted to wear it... Also, I wore different colors based on what I had on different days... If I was in a gang, I wouldn't be doing that. They just didn't like it, and I accept that it can attract attention, but that doesn't excuse them following me, harassing me, and the like...

Only reason I'm familiar with Harnett County is because I went to Campbell and then had a job in Dunn for about 6 months soon after I graduated.

That's cool man. I'm actually thinking about going to their joint law school with NC State after I graduate in the fall. Great school.

Yeah, Buies Creek was the nicest area in all of HC, mainly b/c it's the only place with money in the area. Me and some friends from high school used to go play basketball at the outdoor courts up there at Campbell sometimes.

So, why, exactly, do you think they picked on you? Why did they have it out for you?

Sounds a lot like Oregon.

They don't have any sales tax so the state is pretty poor. They pull people over for going 3mph over the speed limit on the highways because that's how the state makes it's money.

It's usually not discrimination. If they can get you for speeding and also get you for drugs, etc, more money for the state and less of a chance they lose their jobs due to budget cuts.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
