Hurney on WFNZ today discusses CB situation

Hurney was interviewed on WFNZ today and asked some direct questions about our CB situation, here is my summary of what was said:

- We like what we've got at CB right now, but we're keeping our eyes open.

- Are we interested in Asante Samuel? Sounds like the answer is no, talks about how we're close to the cap and now we need to "pick our spots" (Samuel is too expensive).

From what I've seen/heard, RJ Stanford seems to be performing well in camp so maybe we're projecting him as our nickelback with Capt. and Gamble on the edges?

My concern is what happens if either Capt. or Gamble go down with an injury...

are Gamble/Capt better than the duo we had in 2003?

maybe Rivera will make up for what we lack in the back w/ pressure?

in 2003 our division wasn't a power house like it is now. Captain will not be able to cover Julio Jones/White. He won't be able to cover Colston or Mike Williams either

Yeah, the Jones/White vs. Gamble/Capt matchup doesn't sound good.

It's possible that we're bluffing on the Samuel situation to see if the price drops... Eagles have too many cooks in the kitchen right now and Samuel is already getting nippy about it (his interview the other day).

I felt pretty certain we were going to sign Carlos Rodgers... now I'm not sure what to think.
