Cam's accuracy

It's about making plays, not throwing a perfect pass every time. Same goes with Vick's throw yesterday. Oh, and Eli won a Super Bowl throwing a pass off his back foot.

in both of those examples, the receivers were 10X more influential in those plays than the QB..

Heck if he fell on his back and was still able to get it to a reciever, it's okay.

you're talking about the exception to the rule than the general principle..

how many Jake Delhomme examples shall I give of the same scenario?

And that's why football is the ultimate team sport. Eli could've easily had been sacked, same as Vick. It's about giving your playmakers a chance to make a play. On that Vick play, how many other QB's would've been sacked, or would've thrown the ball away?

holy poo. 493 posts in a thread about the accuracy of a quarterback that none of us have ever seen throw a single pass in an NFL game.

There are some folks who no matter what they do will get folks talking and others, not so much.

Case in point, yesterday a thread was started in regard to Jimmy being the one causing Steve Smith to sit out. After about three postings it spiraled into cell-phones, bills, and everything else under the sun. At least this one managed to stay on topic...Gee I wonder why..:)

that has nothing to do with accuracy...

how many QBs would have been sacked? considering the ONLY thing Vick did was move to the left, anyone with legs would be the correct answer.

who would've thrown the ball away? so are you arguing accuracy who people who throw the ball into double coverage?

nothing you just said had anything to do with accuracy or making plays.

yes, it's nice when the QB and WR have excellent chemistry (only reason a QB should throw it into double coverage) and yes it's nice to have a QB who can escape the pocket.

none of that makes up for lack of accuracy.

Can I end this thread now?

None of us know how accurate Cam is or will be, but it is pretty safe to say he will never be Peyton Manning accurate. Neither is Big Ben, Favre, or a number of other QB's that took their teams to the SB and won. 50 pages for this thread is getting embarrassing. No one is going to change anyone else's mind, so dont waste your time trying to do it.

considering the only thing Vick did was move to the left, then anyone with legs could have extended that play and underthrown the hell out of the ball.

Yes, it's nice to have a QB who can escape pressure. however, that doesn't make up for piss poor accuracy. especially when guys like Eli Manning are being tagged an "escape artist"..
