Ronnie Brown to the Eagles

Yeah but they already have two standout CB's so they add another? + Jackson is pissed and wants more money and Mackin is still hurting. It just looks like overkill in the secondary when there are holes to fix on the offense. But i guess after years of watching the Cowboys and Redskins try (and fail) to buy a ring its now the Eagles turn to give it a go.

Asomugha wanted to take less money to play for the Eagles. It would be stupid for them not to take him when Asante is about to get real expensive after this year. I am sure he is being shopped around to address any needs the Eagles have right now.

What holes are there on offense? It's the same explosive offense they had last year. Jackson is going to report to camp and Maclin showed up today at normal weight after battling an illness. Receiver is definitely not an issue.

The Redskins and Cowboys overpaid for washed up talent over the years. Show me an example of the Eagles doing that this off season and I will have no choice but to agree with you.

Another way to put that is they paid 50% more for Aso than we did DeAngelo. That's quite a bit more money...not saying he doesn't deserve it, but the spin you put on it makes it sound like we paid almost as much for DeAngelo as Philly did on Aso which isn' even close to true.

They only paid about $4 mil more on Aso than we did on DeAngelo.

And on the point of this thread, meh. Ronnie Brown isn't that big of a signing for them. Philly's doing their thang in FA this year. More power to them. They're the only organization doing as good or better than Carolina. Their fleecing of Arizona > our fleecing of Chicago, DeAngelo + CJ > Aso.

They won't win the Super Bowl.

Their seasonal reality check will happen around week 8 like it always does.

Wow..what a bold prediction right there, way to go out on a limb!

Great point about the week 8 reality check....oh wait no it's not. The Eagles have been one of the best teams down the stretch and haven't had a losing record after week 8 in at least the last 5 years. In fact, I am pretty sure they have won around 65%-70% of their games after week 8.

I don't think the Eagles are better than Green Bay and are on par with NO and ATL but how are they trying to buy a championship? They have to stay within the same financial guidelines as everyone else.Agents are coming to them saying that my guy wants to play for you and will do so for less money than he could get somewhere else. Are the Eagles supposed to say no?

The Eagles still have plenty of holes and this team has a whole new defensive scheme to learn. It will take time to gel. A trip to the SB will run through Mike Vick which I am not 100% sold on yet. The NFC is tough and it will be no cake walk. You make it sound like they are the Yankees and spending so much more than everyone else. They aren't throwing money at people.

You dont have to explain. Bitches tend to bitch and find reasons to be bitches. Thats what is going on right here. I commend the Eagles, but it is no guarantee. Better figure out a way to get Jackson back out there.

$4mil more in guaranteed money. Sorry.

Of course they paid much less than we did for CJ.
