What is better for Cam's chance at stardom

Recommended Posts

Anderson sucks. I don't mind trying Clausen again but Anderson is just throwing away games at this point.

He has sucked since 2007. But in all fairness, he hasn't throw a pass that counts for us this year. Lets wait until preseason to see if he sucks this year.

There is no way the team is going to let him play early on. He ran a simplified spread offense in Auburn. It's like taking a kid who rode a tricycle for years and putting him behind the wheel of a 911! He's gonna be a bit rusty!!! Although, in all fairness to the Panthers, we're more like a AMC Gremlin and less like a 911! haha Still, Cam will sit, and that's fine. Although you can argue just how valuable it is to make a rookie QB wait, and this article touches on it (http://tinyurl.com/3rdynxz), I still feel like it'll only benefit Cam.

My feeling is, that this year is going to be dominated by teams that were successful last year. Clubs could have brought in a few talented veterans and will remain successful, but teams banking on young unproven talent to come through with limited practice time.. are going to be disappointed.

I really want Cam to succeed. I'll admit though, like a lot of folks, I'm sort of taking him being a Panther with a grain of salt. I mean, deep down...I really wanted Andrew Luck. Sorry, but it's true! I sort of feel like, the Panthers went into this draft with the first pick and the possibility of a lockout looming and nobody wanted to trade up or down, a lot of the talent pool was evened out, and we were sort of put into a position where we were forced to get Newton. It's kind of bittersweet.

I never got this impression where the organization was gung-ho over cam!

I still wish him the past. A first pick in the draft only comes once in awhile and Newton was a stud in college and has all the of the physical abilities to be a star. Had this been Fox's staff, I'd question our ability to develop him because I always though Fox was lousy with QBs, but I feel like Chud and Shula can turn him into a great player if we give him time to get situated and learn things.

The knock against Cam is his ability to learn a system, and the worst thing we can do is make that more difficult than it has to be.

You couldn't of watched Clausen play last year.......and still make the comment that there is no way Cam will play.

also, Auburn's system is not actually proof that Cam has difficulty learning offenses. Cam walked in off the street and picked it up....the Auburn offensive scheme was not a Cam scheme. Also signs per reports, coaches, and players suggest Cam will no more trouble picking things up than any other rookie QB coming from a college spread offense.
