Video From Todays Practice (8/1)

Maybe it was just his footwork then. He didn't step into all his throws, which makes it looks like he's being antsy.

I agree with that. He did have one throw off his back foot that was on the money. That pick was thrown flat footed. But, he is a rookie, and that is a rookie mistake. I am not too worried about it though. If he's doing that week 3 of the preseason, I will be worried. lol

Cam's throw to #81 was off his back foot and weak. THe INT he threw was a poorly executed pass by Cam. The scramble up the middle was DOPE! When you think about Newton's ability to scramble and pick up a 3rd and 4 or 5 and the use of 2 TE Shockey/Olsen plus our running game. I think Cam is the front runner to start week 1.

He's come a long way and CAN be a game changer in this league. He stands tall in the pocket and gets a good look at the field, but he breaks down way too quickly. His footwork needs to improve. THis might be his biggest weakness.

Obviously for a mobile QB, this has been the challenge that Vick and V. Young faced early in their careers. I still think Cam could be the best yet of that mold.

Thanks for the vid! I'm excited about the season.

Great vid, that scramble by Cam was awesome as was the throw to Gettis... didn't know a head coach was allowed to yell at people? LOL

Like any rookie QB, Cam is going to make mistakes - it's a process. The fact that he's starting out with so many positives is BIG.

Cam looks faster then I thought he was and that throw to gettis was pretty good to. Im just waiting for him to get more comfortable with his passes like he was at Auburn. Dont get me wrong its going to take time. Just wait into these guys start to gel. Only the first real practice.Once he really start throwing that thing we might have something serious then.

I was there. Anybody else that went think that Cam just looked head and shoulders better than Jimmy? I mean, it may just be wishful, biased thinking, but Cam seemed to have a better grasp on things. Doesn't hurt that he can actually see over the line, though. That Cam scramble up the middle for what would have been 6 was awesome to see. He can absolutely outrun guys at this level, something a lot of people questioned. Looked comfortable in the pocket. Couple iffy throws, but overall, a good day for him. Never would have been sacked at any point. Jimmy would have had at least 2 sack-fumbles. Good day of practice.

Cam is a monster...I am praying that he picks up on NFL. When he holds the football, you can see his thumb and all four fingers. Looks like he's holding a fuging peewee ball. Plus he just looks like a future HOF and appears to be very athletic in his fluid movements. I know that Ron wants to work with Cam to be a better pocket quarterback but I love to watch him run. Break on off every game Cam!

Still gotta remember that he has NOT seen an NFL defense yet. Heck....most of what he saw yesterday was not our starters.

Kid has ton of potential and skill....no doubt about that. He has the work ethic and attitude to translate that into success. But, he has a LONG way to go to develop.

I think it will happen....but it will take time. And that is OK.
